The rivalry between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel isn’t going away anytime soon. The newest twist in the feud came when the former turned down the latter’s request to return to the Fast & Furious franchise. The actor-wrestler claimed that he told the xXx star that he would not be returning to the franchise.

Johnson stated that he has “no possibility” of returning to the action film franchise. He also expressed his displeasure with Vin’s reference to his children and late actor Paul Walker when requesting Dwayne to return.

Dwayne Johnson turns down Vin Diesel’s offer to star in Fast & Furious 10.

In an interview with CNN, Dwayne Johnson stated that he told Vin ‘personally’ and that his remarks were ‘strong yet kind’ in announcing that he will not be appearing in the next chapter of the franchise, Fast 10. ‘The Rock’ also stated that he would always be supportive of the cast and root for the franchise’s success.

Vin’s public request for Dwayne Johnson to return to the franchise on Instagram, however, did not sit well with him. Vin’s post, according to the Red Notice star, was an “example of his manipulation.”

He expressed his displeasure with the latter’s mention of his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. ‘Leave them out of it,’ he responded, adding that they had discussed it months before and had reached a “clear understanding.”

His intention, he added, was to end his “wonderful adventure” with the “great” franchise with “thanks and grace.” Dwayne Johnson called it “unfortunate” that his public debate with Vin Diesel had “muddied the waters.” He expressed confidence in the next Fast film’s ability to deliver for the public and wished his former partners well.

Vin had a message for his ‘little brother,’ Dwayne, in an Instagram picture on November 8. The former said that Fast 10’s time had come, and that ‘legacy awaits,’ as fans awaited the film with bated breath. He went on to say that his children referred to Dwayne as “Uncle Dwayne” and that they never failed to greet him on holidays.

Vin also said he promised ‘Pablo,’ meaning Paul Walker, that he would make the ‘Best Fast’ in the championship. He begged Dwayne to keep the franchise alive by saying that no one could play Hobbs better than he could. “I hope you rise to the occasion and achieve your destiny,” Vin ended in his message to Dwayne, stating that he had a significant role.

Dwayne Johnson has been a part of the Fast & Furious franchise since 2011, starring in Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, and The Fate of the Furious. The rivalry began with Dwayne’s now-deleted Instagram post, which poked fun at several of the cast members without naming them, and was widely assumed to be directed at Vin. Vin asserted that they were close friends and that things were exaggerated. However, Dwayne was absent from the most recent film, F9.
