The investigation into the Hanskhali rape case has been handed over to the CBI by the High Court

The records in the Hanskhali rape murder case were turned over to a three-member CBI team on Wednesday by West Bengal state agencies. The probe has commenced, and the CBI will present its findings to the Calcutta High Court on May 2.

This comes after the CBI was permitted to investigate the Hanskhali rape and murder case by the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday. The Court ordered a ‘fair’ probe and requested that the state investigating agency gives overall investigative documents to the CBI.

The Calcutta High Court, according to sources, ordered state authorities to hand over custody of the accused to the central agency. It further requested the state to guarantee that the witnesses and victim’s family be given complete safety. The state authorities were also criticized by the Court on April 12 for neglecting to investigate the severe matter. It drew attention to numerous flaws in the Bengal Police’s investigation, including the fact that the officers failed to film witness statements as required by law.

Brajgopal, the accused, invited the dead victim to his birthday celebration on April 4. According to reports, the girl was gang-raped by several individuals and died as a result of severe blood loss. The event occurred in Nadia’s Hanskhali block number one, in the Shyamnagar area of the Gajna gram panchayat. According to the victim’s relatives, the accused forcefully destroyed her remains to conceal the crime.

Furthermore, BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul slammed the Mamata Banerjee-led government, claiming that the Court’s decision to allow the CBI to investigate the issue demonstrates that the Court does not trust the West Bengal police and administration since CM Mamata Banerjee may exert influence over them. “Every case is in the hands of the CBI, demonstrating that the court has lost trust in the West Bengal administration, police, and law and order,” says the judge. Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, “controls the police and the government and commits crimes,” according to reports.

The BJP MLA from Asansol South criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her ill-advised remarks on the matter. “West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee chastised a youngster for having an affair with a pregnant woman. “We’re embarrassed,” she said. On April 11, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee minimized the violent rape and death of a 14-year-old girl in Nadia’s Hanskhali hamlet, claiming that everyone was aware of the girl’s love affair, leaving one to wonder whether it was a true rape or an erroneous pregnancy.

“As a layperson, I’m asking where would someone acquire the proof whether she was genuinely raped, was she pregnant or was there any other cause like someone beating her up or she died of some sickness,” she stated in Bengali. There was undoubtedly a love affair; her family and neighbors were well aware of it. I can no longer punish a girl and a boy who love each other. “I can’t do anything in the name of Love Jihad in Uttar Pradesh,” the West Bengal Chief Minister stated. Mamata Banerjee reportedly taped her testimony after a TMC leader’s son was nominated as a suspect in the case.
