Several schools in Bengaluru have received bomb threats
According to reports, several schools in Bengaluru received bomb threats on Friday morning. As per a senior officer, the notice warning the schools about the placed explosives was delivered by email. Bengaluru City Police ordered the schools to be evacuated immediately, and a bomb disposal unit was dispatched to the scene to perform additional searches.
The bomb warning was received by six schools: Delhi Public School in Sulakunte, Gopalan International School in Mahadevapura, New Academy School in Marathahalli, Ebenezer International School in Electronic City, St Vincent Pallotti School in Hennur, and Indian Public School in Govindapura.
Multiple emails were sent to these schools between 11:00 AM and 11:10 AM, according to Vasanth Kumar, inspector of Hennur Police Station in Bengaluru. Tension gripped all of the schools as a result of the messages, and the schools were evacuated. The cops were dispatched and arrived at the schools within minutes to check the emails’ legitimacy.
The students were all sent home, and their parents were informed of the situation.
“A very strong bomb has been buried in your school, attention is not a joke, this is not a joke, a very strong explosive has been planted in your school, immediately call the police and sappers, hundreds of lives may be at risk, including yours, do not delay, now everything is in your hands!” the email stated.
“Investigations into who is behind this email are in full swing. “We’ll get to the bottom of it,” said Kamal Pant, the city police commissioner.
The bomb scare in Bengaluru arises after Al-Qaeda made a statement on Karnataka’s hijab dispute on Tuesday. Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri had expressed his support for burqa-wearing protestor Bibi Muskan Zainab Khan, who was at the center of the state’s hijab debate.
After an initial examination, police have concluded that the bomb threat appears to be a fake.

Morbe Dam Water Storage Reaches 75.66%, Easing Supply Concerns
Steady monsoon downpours boost primary water reservoir for Navi Mumbai residents.
The Storage
In a major relief for Navi Mumbai residents, water levels at the Morbe Dam the primary drinking water source for the region have reached 75.66% of its total capacity, following consistent monsoon showers across its catchment area in Khalapur.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) officials confirmed that the rising water levels significantly reduce concerns over potential water cuts or supply disruptions in the coming months. The steady inflow has ensured a secure drinking water buffer for over 15 lakh residents across the city.
While the current stock is sufficient to meet daily demand well into early next year, civic engineers noted that sustained heavy downpours are still required for the reservoir to hit 100% capacity and overflow. NMMC continues to monitor catchment rainfall closely to optimize seasonal storage reserves.

The Structures
In a strong bid to enforce urban planning norms and safeguard public land, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has intensified its crackdown on illegal structures across several ward offices. The civic administration has launched targeted demolition drives and issued show-cause notices to halt unapproved construction activities across the city.
Following directives from the Bombay High Court regarding unauthorized developments, NMMC officials have taken strict action against hundreds of illegal structures. Show-cause notices have also been served to civic personnel under whose jurisdiction these unsanctioned developments reportedly flourished.
Armed with heavy machinery, anti-encroachment squads are pulling down illegal reinforced concrete (RCC) structures, unauthorized hutments, and encroached spaces built without required planning permissions or in violation of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act.
NMMC administrators have instructed ward officers to maintain strict monitoring, conduct regular site inspections, and initiate immediate punitive action against fresh encroachments to preserve the planned character of Navi Mumbai.
