SDPI and KFD must be banned by the Karnataka government: Pratap Simha

Published

on

This Monday (February 21), Karnataka BJP MP Pratap Simha slammed his party for failing to outlaw radical Islamist organizations like the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and the Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD). Despite the frequent murders of party Karyakartas, he expressed remorse for the government’s inactivity.

“I am grieved by the cruel assassination of Bajrang Dal Karyakarta Harsha,” the BJP MP from the Mysore-Kodagu constituency remarked. I am ashamed that these attacks continue even though the fact that the BJP is in power.” Prasshanth Poojari, Deepak Rao, Santosh, Sharath Madiwala, Raju, Praveen Poojari, and Paresh Mesta were among the Karyakartas who were similarly hacked to death

“We used to blame the Siddaramaiah government for every murder because they returned 175 criminal charges against SDPI and KFD members hacked a plot and murdered our Karyakartas,” he claimed. Simha emphasized how the BJP was able to capture 104 seats in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly thanks to the efforts of the party’s foot troops.

“Even after our party took power, they attacked police and innocent bystanders in Mangaluru, using the CAA protests as an excuse.” It was prevented thanks to the foresight of a few personnel, and firing took place, saving the government’s honor on that particular day,” he noted.

During the historic Bengaluru riots of 2020 in DJ Halli and HJ Halli, Islamists again targeted cops and Hindus, according to the BJP MP. Simha stated that his government has committed to prosecuting criminals and to outlaw Islamist organizations such as the SDPI and KFD.

“Today, with the hijab issue, there is an aura of insecurity,” Simha remarked. This is even though the Supreme Court issued an interim judgment supporting the government’s decree. You plead for peace, but they don’t seem to care. You enforce Section 144, yet they openly break it, and nothing is done about it.”

“Following Harsha’s death, you stated that you would pursue the perpetrators with zeal. Will our karyakartas take us seriously? That is why I am embarrassed by myself today. Would this tragedy have occurred if you had taken action against SDPI and KFD after the Dj Halli/KJ Halli affair?” he continued.

The BJP MP slammed his party for continuing to criticize the previous Congress administration rather than engaging in self-reflection. “Why did our karyakartas work so hard to get us elected?” For us, they put up posters and launched campaigns. I trust BS Bommai completely (incumbent Chief Minister). During the Anti-CAA protests and the Bengaluru riots, he was the Home Minister. He’s aware of SDPI’s crimes, KFD,” he stated.

SDPI has mainstreamed Kerala-style murders in Karnataka, according to the BJP MP. He recalled how Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had also asked the government to ban the extreme organization while urging a ban on the Islamist group.

According to Pratap Simha, the SDPI is responsible for the most murders in Karnataka. He urged the state administration to suggest to the federal government that the outfit be outlawed in the state. “Today, catching four people and declaring that you would take action against them is not enough,” he added.

“If they don’t see what happened in Hyderabad following the famed rape case, they won’t comprehend.” Nothing else will work,” he said, urging the government to use a heavy hand against the anti-social groups.

Case of Harsha’s slaying

Harsha, a Bajrang Dal activist, was stabbed to death in the Shivamogaa area of Karnataka on Sunday night (February 20). The stabbed Hindu activist was transported to Mc Gann District Hospital, where he died. He was a Seegehatti native who worked as a tailor.

Harsha had been a part of the Hindu Bajrang Dal and was seen wearing saffron shawls to demand that schools and universities follow a uniform dress code. Islamists allegedly threatened him in 2015 over supposed ‘blasphemous’ social media statements.

Meanwhile, KS Eshwarappa, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj in Karnataka, alleged that the Bajrang Dal activist was killed by ‘Musalman goondas.’ Three persons have been arrested thus far in connection with the investigation, including Qasif and Nadeem.

Residents Of Kharghar Express Concern Over The Increasing Number Of Roadside Shops And Encroachments

Residents of Kharghar are raising serious concerns over the growing encroachments and unauthorized shops in Sectors 30 to 40, which are causing inconvenience and safety issues. Locals have shared photographs showing illegal roadside stalls selling clothes, fruits, coconuts, and snacks, taking over footpaths and parking spaces.

One image shows a clothing shop operating from a car boot, while another captures coconut vendors blocking a busy intersection. A third photo highlights a snack stall covered with plastic sheets, further restricting pedestrian movement, especially under the newly constructed metro bridge.

Frustrated residents say these illegal setups are disrupting daily life. “We pay taxes for planned infrastructure, but these encroachments create chaos,” said Radhe Trivedi, a local.

Arvind Pawar, another resident, said multiple complaints to the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) and CIDCO have seen little action. “We need stricter enforcement to remove illegal hawkers and restore order,” he added.

Citizens have taken to social media to highlight the issue, tagging government officials, including the Chief Minister’s Office of Maharashtra and MLA Prashant Thakur, demanding intervention.

Resident Lalita Iyer emphasized the need for long-term solutions to prevent future encroachments and protect Kharghar’s planned urban development.

With growing pressure from residents, authorities are now being urged to take immediate and strict action to remove these unauthorized commercial activities and restore public spaces to their proper use.

Thirty-one poets took part in this event. From January 14 to January 28, the city government has organized a number of events to promote the Marathi language.

Gupte urged the poets to continue their commitment to producing high-caliber poetry. Despite their hectic work schedules, he commended the cops and staff for fostering their literary abilities.

The poet was especially grateful of the female staff members who had worked hard and passionately to develop their literary skills while juggling work and domestic duties. Gupte stressed the significance of delivery and presentation. He emphasized that there should be a natural rhythm and flow even in free verse poetry.
