Prime Ministers Museum is all set to Open

Published

on

On April 14, 2022, the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya will be opened. It was created in order to raise knowledge about India’s Prime Ministers up to this point. Regardless of their ideology or duration in office, the Sangrahalaya recognises the contributions of all Indian Prime Ministers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya is an all-encompassing programme aimed at educating and motivating the younger generation about the country’s past Prime Ministers, their leadership, vision, and accomplishments.

A Look Inside the Prime Minister’s Museum

The museum incorporates the former Nehru Museum structure, known as Block I, which now holds a totally rebuilt, technologically upgraded presentation of Jawaharlal Nehru’s life and contributions. The rebuilt Block 1 also houses awards earned by Jawaharlal Nehru from throughout the world that were never displayed before.

The Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya depicts India’s struggle for independence from the creation of the Constitution to the present day. Not only that, but the museum will show how India’s Prime Ministers overcame adversity and ensured the country’s overall prosperity. Sangrahalaya’s fundamental philosophy is to recognise the nonpartisan contributions of all Prime Ministers.

The Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya’s design is influenced by the story of India’s rise. The hands of India’s leaders shape and sculpt the country. Sustainable and energy-saving measures are incorporated into the infrastructure. The Sangrahalaya covers a total size of 10,491 square metres. The logo for the Prime Ministers’ Museum depicts the people of India clutching the Chakra, which represents the nation and democracy.

Institutions such as Doordarshan, Film Division, Sansad TV, Ministry of Defence, Media Houses (Indian and foreign), Print Media, Foreign News Agencies, MEA Toshakhana, and others were used to gather information. Families of prior Prime Ministers were also contacted for relevant information. In most cases, the content was purchased under a perpetual licence. Inside the Prime Ministers’ museum, appropriate use of Archives (Collected Works and other literary works, important correspondences), some Personal items, Gifts & Memorabilia (Felicitations, Honours, Medals conferred, commemorative stamps, coins, etc.), speeches of PMs, and anecdotal representation of ideologies and different aspects of Prime Ministers’ lives have been reflected in a thematic format.

The Prime Ministers’ Museum has used cutting-edge technology-based interfaces to convey knowledge in a simple and engaging way, especially for children and teenagers. Holograms, virtual reality, augmented reality, multi-touch, multi-media, interactive kiosks, computerised kinetic sculptures, smartphone applications, interactive screens, experiential installations, and other interactive technologies have been used to make the exhibition content very interactive.
