In The Sanpada Firing Case, Shooter Imran Mulla Qureshi Was Taken Into Custody Three Days After Santosh Gawli, The Main Suspect
The gunman who shot at the contractor was also apprehended three days after the primary suspect in the Sanpada firing case was taken into custody. Since he took over the APMC market’s trash disposal contract from Gawli, the primary accused Santosh Gawli (35), has been at odds with the contractor Rajaram Dhoke (48). Gawli and his friend shooter Imran Mulla Qureshi (42) had been planning Dhoke’s murder for six months. While both were on trial for two separate instances, Qureshi, a member of the DK Rao Gang, met Gawli in jail.
Gawli managed the trash disposal contract from the APMC market around two years ago, but Thoke later took it over. In addition to losing the contract, Gawli felt degraded since the workers no longer respected him in the marketplace. Gawli had taken up driving autorickshaws in order to make a life. According to a police officer with knowledge of the investigations, “Gawli and Qureshi agreed that after Thoke was killed, Gawli would receive the contract and then he would share the money with Qureshi as well.”
Thoke was waiting for his two companions who were sipping tea at a nearby tea stand in his parked car outside Juinagar Railway Station on January 3rd when Gawli and Qureshi, who were riding bikes, came up to him. Qureshi, a pillion rider with a 9mm handgun, was riding alongside Gawli. Three of Queshi’s five bullets struck Thoke in the stomach, shoulder, and hand. Thoke was taken to the hospital after surviving the incident.
Gawli and Thoke moved to Pune after the incident and split up. Qureshi was apprehended on Tuesday from a Durgah premises, whilst Gawli was apprehended on Saturday at a lodge. The officer further stated, “We have retrieved the 9mm handgun from Qureshi’s possession.” Sanpada police, where the charge was filed, are now conducting additional investigations into the matter, and both of the accused have been placed under police custody until January 17.

The action is a part of the Maharashtra ATS’s specific effort to find and deport illegal immigrants. At before 7 am on Tuesday, ATS officers working with the local police responded to a tip and raided a tenement in Ganesh Deval Nagar, a large slum complex in Bhayandar (west). The residents, who were named as Mofiz Azom Choudhary (52), and his wife Firoza (47), who were from Madhupur village in the Khulna area of Bangladesh, were asked to provide proof of their stay in India, but they were unable to do so.

In Kharghar, PM Modi Inaugurated The Second-largest ISKCON Temple In Asia
PM Modi Inaugurates Asia’s 2nd Largest ISKCON Temple In Kharghar.
The Inauguration
On Wednesday, January 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple of ISKCON in Navi Mumbai. Additionally, PM Modi prayed in the second-largest ISKCON temple in Asia.
At the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was joined by BJP MP Hema Malini, Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
“With ISKCON’s efforts, Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple is being inaugurated here on this great land of knowledge and devotion,” the prime minister stated in his speech following the opening. I consider myself lucky to have been granted the honor of participating in such a ceremony.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the complete heritage of spirituality and wisdom is reflected in the layout of Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple.
He further stated, “Keeping in mind the interest and attraction of the new generation, a museum containing the Ramayana and Mahabharata is being built here.”
“In the country, development and heritage have progressed together,” stated PM Modi, acknowledging ISKCON’s commitment to the nation’s heritage development. Institutions such as ISKCON are providing important support for this objective of heritage-based development. Social consciousness has always been centered in our temples and other places of worship. I think that the young people would work for the country with a sense of devotion and dedication under the direction of ISKCON. The Bhakti Vedanta Ayurvedic Healing Center will also be accessible to the public inside this temple complex. ‘Heal in India’ has always been my message to the globe, for healthcare and people’s general well-being.”
The Prime Minister committed three cutting-edge frontline naval combat vessels to the country earlier today in a spectacular commissioning ceremony at the navy Dockyard: the submarine INS Vaghsheer, the destroyer INS Surat, and the stealth frigate INS Nilgiri.
After 78 years of independence, the concurrent commissioning of three naval vessels signaled the beginning of “Shaṁ No Varunaḥ,” which would see the Indian Navy build its own warships and submarines.

Road Accidents Have Decreased And Pedestrian Mobility Is Made Easier By FOB In Sector 9, Vashi
FOB at Sector 9, Vashi eases pedestrian movement, reduces road accidents.
The Bridge
After a protracted delay, the eagerly anticipated Foot-Over-Bridge (FOB) at Sector 9, Vashi, has now opened to the public, offering much-needed respite to the locals and shoppers. The project was originally scheduled to be finished in August, but the COVID-19 epidemic and other unanticipated obstacles caused several interruptions. The neighborhood has embraced the FOB, which is now fully operational with elevators added, and it is already improving pedestrian safety.
The bridge, which is expected to cost around Rs 2.44 crores, is intended to make it easier for pedestrians to cross the congested road, particularly in Sector 9’s crowded marketplace. Given the high volume of traffic in the region, the new infrastructure has improved safety by lowering the likelihood of traffic accidents.
“This bridge is a boon to the residents of this area, and it’s better late than never,” said Sector 9 resident Radhika Kavinde, expressing her happiness. Without worrying about approaching traffic, my kids and I can cross the street securely. These days, we utilize it a lot.
Another local, Amol Desai, praised the elevators’ considerate installation, particularly for senior citizens. Lift installation was a wise decision on the part of NMMC. My elderly parents, who spend every evening in the public garden across the street, find it extremely beneficial. The elevator is roomy and simple to use. It’s safe since the tiles are non-slip and tactile,” he added.
Another resident, Indrajit Das, emphasized the advantages of accessibility for different groups. “Pedestrians may cross the bridge more readily, and sellers with bulky bags will find it quite easy. Elderly people and youngsters can also benefit from it. This bridge has been long anticipated, and its arrival has improved the safety and convenience of our everyday trips.
