The 100-day Action Plan For Improving Civic Services Is Started By NMMC
NMMC embarks on CM’s 100-day action plan to enhance civic services.
The Action Plan
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a 100-day action plan, conceptualized by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, to enhance municipal services and improve citizens’ quality of life. NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde has directed all departments to implement the plan efficiently.
A key focus of the initiative is maintaining cleanliness in municipal offices by disposing of old materials, organizing documents, and improving facilities. Dr. Shinde has also emphasized the importance of providing basic amenities such as clean drinking water, well-maintained restrooms, waiting rooms, and clear directional signboards.
To improve digital services, Dr. Shinde has stressed the need for an updated and user-friendly NMMC website, ensuring easy access to services. He also called for strict compliance with the Right to Information Act, 2005, and the Public Service Rights Act, 2015, to enhance transparency.
Efforts are being made to strengthen the Grievance Redressal System, with a goal of zero pending complaints. Officers have been asked to set aside specific hours for citizen interactions, ensuring accessibility.
Dr. Shinde has also instructed regular inspections of municipal offices and public facilities, including schools, hospitals, markets, and public toilets, to ensure they meet public needs. He has urged better organization of Democracy Day, held on the first Monday of each month, to address citizen concerns more effectively.
With this action plan, NMMC aims to provide faster, more efficient services and improve overall governance in Navi Mumbai.

Morbe Dam Water Storage Reaches 75.66%, Easing Supply Concerns
Steady monsoon downpours boost primary water reservoir for Navi Mumbai residents.
The Storage
In a major relief for Navi Mumbai residents, water levels at the Morbe Dam the primary drinking water source for the region have reached 75.66% of its total capacity, following consistent monsoon showers across its catchment area in Khalapur.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) officials confirmed that the rising water levels significantly reduce concerns over potential water cuts or supply disruptions in the coming months. The steady inflow has ensured a secure drinking water buffer for over 15 lakh residents across the city.
While the current stock is sufficient to meet daily demand well into early next year, civic engineers noted that sustained heavy downpours are still required for the reservoir to hit 100% capacity and overflow. NMMC continues to monitor catchment rainfall closely to optimize seasonal storage reserves.
