In Kashi Ayodhya and Mathura BJP wins a clean sweep

The BJP won the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh by winning the assembly constituencies affiliated with Hindu sacred sites. Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi were all won by BJP candidates. In a news conference, Akhilesh Yadav declared the Samajwadi Party’s victory in Ayodhya by identifying the candidate. Even during the political parties’ election campaigns, these sacred cities were frequently discussed.

The BJP won three of the five assembly seats in Ayodhya, while the SP won two.

Ved Prakash Gupta, the incumbent MLA, has won in Ayodhya for the second time. A total of 112169 (49.11 percent) people voted for him. With 92,067 (40.31 percent) votes, Tejnarayan Pandey alias Pawan Pandey, a minister in the Samajwadi Party cabinet, came in second. With 17540 (7.68 percent) votes, Ravi Prakash of the Bahujan Samaj Party stayed in third place. Rita, a Congress candidate, came in fourth place. In Ayodhya, the NOTA candidate received more votes than the Aam Aadmi Party and Communist Party candidates.

In the Ayodhya district, the BJP won the Rudauli and Bikapur seats. Milkipur and Gosaiganj, on the other hand, were won by the Samajwadi Party.

In Mathura, the BJP wins all five assembly seats.

In the Mathura district, the BJP has won all five assembly seats. Shrikant Sharma, a minister in the incumbent BJP government, received 151729 votes (60.41 percent) in Mathura city. He defeated Congress candidate Pradeep Mathur, who received 47770 votes (19.02%). SK Sharma, a BSP candidate, came in third place with 28913 votes (11.51%). Devendra Agarwal, the candidate of the Samajwadi Party, received only 17408 votes (6.93 percent). The NOTA candidate received more votes than the Aam Aadmi Party and Shiv Sena candidates in this election. In the Mathura district, the BJP also won the assembly seats of Chhata Mat, Govardhan, and Baldev.

In Varanasi, the BJP and its allies win all eight seats, making it a clean sweep for the party.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has Varanasi as his parliamentary constituency. In Varanasi, the BJP has won all eight assembly seats. Saurabh Srivastava, a BJP contender from Varanasi Cantt, won with 147833 votes (60.63%). With 60989 (25.01 percent) votes, Pooja Yadav of the Samajwadi Party came in second. Rajesh Kumar Mishra, the third-placed Congress candidate, received 23807 votes (9.76%). Kaushik Kumar Pandey of the Bahujan Samaj Party placed in fourth place with 7068 votes (2.9%). In this case, as well, the AAP candidate may receive fewer votes than the NOTA candidate.

Shivpur, Pindara, Ajgara, City North, and City South assembly seats in Varanasi have also been won by BJP candidates. Sevapuri and Rohania seats were won by Apna Dal (S), which is running in an alliance with the BJP.

Navi Mumbai Police Arrest African National With Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Ulwe

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.
