Gangster Vikash Dubey killed in a dramatic encounter with UP police near Kanpur Highway.

The notorious Gangster, Vikas Dubey was shot dead by police early morning today in an encounter in Kanpur. As reported by police, Vikas Dubey tried to flee after the UP STF car in which he was returning from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh overturned. His body with bullet wounds was rushed to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital (earlier called Hallet Hospital) where he was pronounced dead by the doctors. His death was declared at 7.55 am today. In this incident, four police men too have got injured and are shifted to CST Hospital in Kalyanpur for treatment.
It is being reported that as the police car carrying Vikas Dubey overturned on the highway, the criminal tried to snatch weapons from Special Task Force personnel and attempted to escape leading to his encounter. The accident took place in Bhauti, just half an hour short of Kanpur city. It was raining at the time of accident. Soon after, he was taken to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
“Gangster Vikas Dubey attempted to flee after the car overturned. Police tried to make him surrender, during which he fired at the policemen. He was injured in retaliatory firing by police. He was later rushed to the hospital,” Kanpur West SP has said.
Yet another statement from the Kanpur police says, “The car overturned and policemen and the accused were injured. Then Vikas Dubey grabbed a gun from an injured policeman and ran. The police team caught up and surrounded him and tried to get him to surrender, but he refused and started firing. The police had to fire back in self-defence.”
The Kanpur based history-sheeter Vikas Dubey, accused of plotting a deadly ambush on the police in Bikru village, Kanpur was arrested in a dramatic fashion on Thursday, July 9, from Mahakal temple in Ujjain after six days of massive hunt. He was a brazen gangster who had 60 criminal cases (including murders, kidnapping and robberies) registered against him. The dreadful criminal was also the prime accused in the murder of BJP leader Santosh Shukla who was a Minister of State and Siddheshwar Pandey, the principal of Tarachand Inter College, Kanpur.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.
