BJPs Parliamentary Board meeting is set to be attend by PM Modi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is winning the race in Manipur, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Goa, according to early trends in the 2022 state Assembly election results across five states, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is expected to become the government in Punjab. Top sources confirmed that the BJP parliamentary board meeting will be held on Thursday evening, following the staged announcement of poll results. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is due to address party members at the party headquarters.

Given the BJP’s landslide victory in four states, the conference will set out the party’s goals, while top officials will assess the party’s performance in the Assembly elections.

Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, and Uttarakhand are all won by the BJP.

Whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already passed the halfway point in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Manipur, incumbent Chief Minister N Biren Singh of the BJP won by 17,000 votes in the Heingang constituency over the Congress’ P Sharatchandra Singh.

According to Singh, the BJP now holds a 28-seat majority, while the Congress holds nine, the NPP eight, the NPF five, and others have ten “The face of Manipur’s chief minister will be decided by our national leaders. The NPP will not ally.”

The governing BJP, which chose to run alone in the northeastern state this time, was dominating in 28 seats and the Congress in nine.

“The BJP will form the government in Goa; we will include MGP (Maharashtra Gomantak) and independent candidates,” existing Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated. After a close contest with Congress’ Dharmesh Saglani, the 48-year-old BJP politician won the Sanquelim constituency. With 47.2 percent of the vote, CM Sawant was elected, while Saglani received 45.62 percent.

“We would take MGP and independent candidates with us,” the incumbent Goa CM remarked, as the party is sure of gaining a simple majority.

After the results were announced, numerous independent candidates expressed their support for the BJP. The BJP received backing from independent candidates Manuel Vaz of Cortalim and Alexio Reginaldo of Curtorim. Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, an independent candidate from Bicholim, has already declared his support for the ruling BJP.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.
