Navi Mumbai gears up for Ganeshotsav with intensive pothole repairs.

The Repairs

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has increased its efforts to make sure the city’s roadways are clear of potholes in anticipation of Ganeshotsav. Strict instructions have been issued by Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, asking the engineering department to accelerate repairs on a war footing and to show zero tolerance for carelessness or delays.

Leading the way is Shirish Aardwad, Additional Commissioner and City Engineer, who is directly supervising the state of repairs in many departments. To expedite the process and make sure that every executive engineer is responsible for the state of the roads in their particular regions, he has called urgent meetings with all of the engineers.

Repair work is already underway on the city’s main routes, interior streets, and industrial sectors inside the MIDC as a result of the monsoon rains abating. Depending on the kind of road, mastic, cold mix, and asphalt are used in the repairs. The engineering teams are required to follow rigorous guidelines and scientific procedures while fixing potholes, and they are regularly inspected to guarantee that the high standards of quality and durability are being followed.

To ensure a smooth and level finish, special attention is being paid to how the repaired potholes line up with the original road surface. Additionally, attempts are being made to stop potholes from coming back in the sections that have been repaired. In anticipation of Ganeshotsav, internal roadways are receiving priority, particularly those that will be utilized for the arrival and immersion processions of the Ganesh idol and those that are close to public Ganeshotsav mandals.

Ensuring that all roads are in perfect shape before the event starts is a top priority for the engineering department. Dr. Shinde has stressed the need for strict control to ensure that every road in Navi Mumbai is ready for Ganeshotsav, which is in only 15 days.

The NMMC is working relentlessly to enhance road conditions around the city, under the watchful eye of Additional Commissioner and City Engineer Shirish Aardwad, to guarantee a safe and seamless festival experience for everyone.
