Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath announces ‘Mission June’

Chief Minister Of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, announced a massive coronavirus vaccination drive starting the 1st of June. The drive, which has been coined as ‘Mission June’ by the Chief Minister. The mission intends to inoculate 90 lakhs to 1 crore beneficiaries across 75 districts of the state in the month of June alone.

According to a statement by the Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to the state government officials to ensure that all the sections of the society receive a vaccine shot under ‘Mission June’.

Yogi Adityanath has taken to Twitter to announce the same. He confirmed that under this initiative free vaccinations would be provided to all the people of the state who are above 18 years. He urged everyone to take their jab “Tika jeet ka”, and help defeat Covid-19.

“Our goal is to give shots to 90 lakhs to 1 crore people across 75 districts of the state in the month of June. For this, 2100 booths have been set up across these districts to inoculate 18+ beneficiaries. In order to vaccinate 45 and above age category people, more than 3000 booths are being made across the state. We have a sufficient amount of vaccine vials available to meet our target,” said the Chief Minister while addressing a high-level meeting on Monday.

CM Adityanath also shared a video of him personally visiting K D Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow, where the ‘Mission June’ inoculation drive kickstarted today.

“Special camps have also been set up for journalists, government employees, and members of the judiciary. Similarly, as many as 200 “guardian booths”, where parents of children below the age of 12 can get themselves vaccinated have been set up in all districts,” informed Yogi Adityanath.

Navi Mumbai Police Arrest African National With Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Ulwe

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.

The final day for filing nominations for the 2024 Vidhan Sabha General Election witnessed a surge of candidates in Thane district, with a total of 281 applications submitted across 18 assembly constituencies. This high turnout signals a competitive race for seats in the upcoming election.
