The Gender Studies Cell at St. Stephen’s College issues a defamatory statement

Published

on

Supreme Court advocate J Sai Deepak verified on Twitter that the Gender Studies Cell of Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College has vehemently rejected’ his invitation to lecture on his new book, India that is Bharat — Coloniality, Civilization, and Constitution, given by the college’s leadership cell.

In a Tweet thread, Supreme Court attorney J Sai Deepak revealed images of a deplorable article published by students of St. Stephen’s College’s Gender Studies cell against him, while protesting an invitation offered to him by another college department.

“Free speech,” he said on Twitter. A wide range of viewpoints. Toleration. Inclusion. St. Stephen’s College’s Gender Studies cell. While uploading screenshots of the post posted by students of St. Stephen’s College’s Gender Studies cell, I sang “Vande Mataram.”

While opposing the invitation, students from St. Stephen’s College’s Gender Studies cell used derogatory names for the senior SC barrister, such as “bigoted,” “sexist,” “casteist,” and “misogynistic.” Students in the Gender Studies cell department went on to label J Sai Deepak as Islamophobic for his public statements on the recent Burqa row, which erupted into a major controversy due to the left-liberal intelligentsia’s ongoing efforts to instil fear psychosis in the minds of Muslims by painting a dystopian picture of the current state of affairs and portraying the centre as working against Muslims.

Rather than holding recalcitrant Muslim girls who insist on wearing burqas to colleges and schools in violation of established rules and regulations, liberals have blamed college authorities and administration for the current crisis, alleging that Muslim girls are being denied entry to institutions is part of a sinister government plan to target Muslims.

Furthermore, several students at St Stephen’s College “condemned the invitation, urged for a cancellation of his presentation, and a boycott if the event is still held” because of J Sai Deepak’s public stances on the Sabarimala judgement, Citizenship Amendment Act, and Article 370.

A Supreme Court counsel named J Sai Deepak is a prominent figure in Indian politics. Indeed, because of Mr J Sai Deepak’s public statements on the Citizenship Amendment Act, Article 370, and illegal migration, Jamia Millia Islamia cancelled J Sai Deepak’s lecture on ‘Minority Rights’ in 2020. Jamia Millia Islamia was at the core of the anti-CAA rallies that became violent in November, with Islamists joining in and engaging in unrestrained stone-pelting, burning, and destruction. The ‘protests,’ however, were initiated in the guise of safeguarding constitutional values.
