The BJPs rise to political power: In four of the five states that had elections BJP boosted its vote share

Published

on

In the 2022 Assembly elections, the BJP won four states and the AAP swept Punjab, according to the results released yesterday, March 10th, 2022. Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, and Uttar Pradesh are the four states in which the BJP has won. BJP won 20 seats in Goa, 32 seats in Manipur, 47 seats in Uttarakhand, and 255 seats in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP saw a considerable gain in their vote share in four of these five states, solidifying their political control.

In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP’s vote share has grown.

The BJP won 255 seats in Uttar Pradesh, with 202 votes needed for a majority. The BJP won 312 seats in the most recent Assembly elections. While the BJP’s seat count has decreased, the party’s vote share has increased in the state between 2017 and 2022.

According to Election Commission figures from 2017, the BJP received 39.67 percent of the vote in the state, totaling 3,44,03,299 votes. The BJP’s vote share increased dramatically in 2022, according to Election Commission figures. The BJP’s vote share in Uttar Pradesh increased from 39.67 percent to 41.3 percent.

In Manipur, the BJP has gained more votes.

In Manipur in 2022, the BJP won 32 seats. The BJP won 21 seats in the 2017 general election. The BJP increased its vote share as well as its seats in Manipur. According to EC figures from 2017, the BJP won 36.28 percent of the vote in Manipur. The vote share increased from 36.28 percent to 37.8 percent in 2022, according to EC data.

In Goa, the BJP’s vote share has grown.

In Goa, the BJP won 20 seats in 2022, compared to 13 seats in 2017. In Goa, the BJP increased both its seats and its vote share. In 2017, the BJP received 32.48 percent of the vote in Goa. The BJP boosted their vote share in Goa in 2022. The BJP boosted its vote share from 32.48 percent in 2017 to 33.3 percent in 2022, according to the EC website.

In Punjab, the BJP has gained more votes.

In 2017, the BJP won three seats in Punjab on its own, but by 2022, that number had dropped to two. The BJP, on the other hand, managed to gain ground in the state. The BJP received 5.39 percent of the vote in 2017, according to the EC website.

In 2022, the BJP lost one seat but gained a larger proportion of the vote. In 2022, the BJP’s vote share in Punjab grew to 6.60 percent, up from 5.39 percent in 2017.

Uttarakhand was the only state where the BJP failed to improve its vote share. In 2017, the BJP won 57 seats. In 2022, the number of seats was reduced to 47. The BJP appears to have lost ground in terms of vote share as well. In 2017, the BJP received 46.51 percent of the vote; however, by 2022, that number had dropped to 44.33 percent.

It’s worth noting that the BJP has boosted its vote share in Punjab despite the raging farmer’s protest that turned violent and witnessed the involvement of Leftist and Khalistani forces.

Having increased vote share across the nation, it appears that the BJP’s march to political domination is nearly complete, with regional parties fading save in Punjab and a small portion of Uttar Pradesh, and the single national party, the Congress, delivering its worst showing ever.

MNS Exposes Alleged Fake Voters in Navi Mumbai Through Photo Exhibition

Published

on

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) held a unique photo exhibition in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, to highlight alleged irregularities in the city’s voter list ahead of the upcoming civic elections. The exhibition, inaugurated by Amit Thackeray, displayed photographs and details of voters reportedly registered at invalid or unusual addresses.

According to MNS officials, several names were found listed at locations such as public toilets, footpaths, roadsides, railway stations, and even the municipal commissioner’s residence. The party claimed that around 127 voters were registered at the commissioner’s residence, 250 voters along Palm Beach Road, and multiple entries at other non-residential areas across the city.

Party leaders said the aim was to draw attention to the issue of bogus voter registrations and demand corrective action from election authorities to ensure fair and transparent elections. “This exhibition exposes how thousands of fake voters could influence the outcome of civic polls if not rectified,” said an MNS representative during the event.

However, the Thane District Administration refuted the allegations, stating that no fake voter registrations were recorded at those addresses. Officials clarified that certain entries merely used landmarks such as ‘Nerul Railway Station’ or similar references for voter location purposes, not as actual residential addresses.

The MNS has urged the State Election Commission to initiate a thorough verification drive to clean up the electoral rolls and maintain the integrity of the democratic process in Navi Mumbai.

Navi Mumbai Couple Booked for Cheating Tenants of ₹25 Lakh

The Kharghar police have registered a case against a Navi Mumbai-based couple for allegedly cheating three tenants of a combined sum of Rs 25 lakh by promising them rental flats that were never handed over. The accused have been identified as Krishna Poojari and Geetha Poojari, residents of Meghna Heights in Sector 34A, Kharghar.

According to police sources, between April and June 2024, the couple entered into registered rental agreements with three individuals, offering them flats in the same building — one on the 9th floor and two on the 8th floor. Instead of charging monthly rent, the Poojaris allegedly collected large “one-time deposits” from each tenant, assuring them possession of the flats. However, after receiving the money, they neither handed over the flats nor refunded the deposits.

When repeated requests for refunds went unanswered, the victims approached the police. Following an investigation, the Kharghar police station registered an FIR against the couple for cheating, criminal breach of trust, dishonest inducement, and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Officials stated that efforts are underway to trace the accused, who are currently untraceable. The police have also appealed to other possible victims to come forward, suspecting that more people might have been duped using the same fraudulent rental scheme.
