At Panvel on Wednesday, a family outing turned tragic when a little boy and his uncle died after falling down a mossy cliff. Pradeep Kami, age 7, and Paras Kami, age 35, both of Sukhapur village in Panvel, had gone to the Adai waterfall with five family members when they fell around 25 to 30 feet and hit their heads on the rocks as they tumbled down. According to the police, due to the amount of accidents that have occurred, picnickers are not allowed to visit any waterfalls in Panvel Taluka during the monsoon. Police have also been sent in to stop them from getting to the waterfall.

The police stationed at the gate, however, were avoided by these two families. To get the waterfall, they ascended from the rear, according to an officer. The young child stumbled on the rocks after running ahead of others and reaching the mountaintop about 5 o’clock. According to senior inspector Chandrakant Landge of Khandeshwar police station, where an accidental death has been recorded, the boy’s uncle sped up to take him to safety, but he also slid while clutching the youngster. According to one officer, “as he grabbed hold of the boy, both lost balance and fell down from the top of the waterfall, sliding down the rocky surface and landing at the base.”

They both suffered severe head and body injuries and lost consciousness. When their family members realised what had occurred, they down the hill and informed the officers on duty at the entrance. In a police car, the police hurried the injured youngster and his uncle to the Panvel Sub-District Hospital, where the medical staff pronounced them both “brought dead.” Despite the presence of warning signs, according to Inspector Landge, individuals still sneak in and endanger their lives. An officer stated that police officers have been stationed at the entrance walkway leading to the waterfall as a safety precaution and added that it is not feasible to put police officers everywhere.
