Russia seems unable to manufacture tanks due to financial hardship : Ukrainian intelligence
The sanctions placed by Western countries continue to put Russia in a tough position. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia’s tank manufacturing has ceased owing to budgetary difficulties. It goes on to say that Uralvagonzavod, a Russian machine-building enterprise based in Nizhny Tagil, is working to remedy the issue brought on by Western sanctions. Despite Russia’s continued aggression toward Ukraine, the Russian Federation cannot continue to manufacture high-tech weaponry without foreign components.
Russia has also delayed the manufacturing of new weaponry, notably the “T-90” and “T-14” Armata tanks, according to Ukrainian intelligence. According to the report, the facility’s priority has moved to repair military equipment that has been destroyed during the conflict with Ukraine. According to local media, Moscow has constructed an operating centre whose primary objective is to repair military equipment that has been damaged during the conflict with Ukraine. Growing interest rates on loans, a shortage of funds to settle foreign-currency obligations, and rising prices for materials and components, notably armoured steel, all contribute to Russia’s issues, according to the information.
A similar assertion is made by Washington. In a speech at the end of March, Thea Kendler, an assistant secretary for export administration at the Ministry of Trade, reported that Uralvagonzavod, a Russian machine-building business, was experiencing difficulties in its operations. According to the Bulgarian Military, the manufacture of the new Russian T-14 Armata tank was not proceeding as planned even before the conflict, and the major reason was a lack of funding.
Another setback for Uralvagonzavod.
Uralvagonzavod experienced yet another setback, this time from the court in Moscow rather than the west, as it faced issues with the manufacture of heavy armoured military equipment. A Moscow-based company, Promtransinvest AD, bought 222 Uralvagonzavod railway vehicles a year ago, but an assessment revealed that all 222 waggons had faulty traction systems. The buyer chose to fix the problem himself, for $161,000 and then launched a lawsuit in a Moscow court. Promtransinvest AD won in court, and Uralvagonzavod was ordered to compensate Promtransinvest AD for the money spent on repairs.
