Rejecting flower bouquets, supporters distribute fruits to hospital patients, raincoats to sanitation workers, and free bus passes.

The Drives

Transforming birthday traditions into meaningful public service, the Republican Party of India (Athawale) joined hands with local BJP leaders to celebrate former Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik’s birthday with a series of community-focused welfare drives in Sector 3.

Responding directly to Naik’s personal appeal asking supporters to skip expensive garlands and focus on social work, party leaders organized a multi-pronged community event led by NMMT committee member Advocate Yashpal Ohal and Airoli Assembly President Pratik Jadhav.

Volunteers visited the local Mother and Child Hospital in Sector 3 to distribute fresh fruits to recovering patients. Demonstrating appreciation for the city’s frontline workers, the team gifted durable raincoats to Navi Mumbai’s sanitation workers the Swachhata Doots whose daily efforts keep the municipality clean. Additionally, free NMMT bus passes were distributed to senior citizens and women at the Airoli Bus Depot to support local travel needs.

“A birthday is just a reason to gather, but our real goal is serving people,” said RPI(A) leader Sidram Ohal. “Sandeep Sahib has always guided us to prioritize public welfare over pomp. Honoring our sanitation workers and supporting our seniors is the best gift we could give him.”

The event drew strong support from civic representatives, including Transport Committee Chairman Vikas Jhanjhad and Corporator Shivajirao Khopde, showcasing a unified effort across political lines to turn a personal milestone into a day of tangible public good.

Over a simple celebration, local leaders offer free heart screenings and life-saving surgeries to Sarsole residents.

Heart Health Camp

Marking a birthday with cake is standard, but in Sarsole, local representatives chose to give back through life-saving cardiac care. To celebrate former Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik’s birthday, his long-time supporter and Nerul Corporator Suraj Patil spearheaded a specialized heart health camp under the banner “Healthy Heart, Healthy Life.”

Organized in collaboration with Sushrusha Heart Disease Centre and Super Specialty Hospital, the event targeted the rising risk of heart ailments driven by modern stress and fast-paced lifestyles. High-end diagnostics including 2D Echo, TMT tests, Holter monitoring, and ECGs were made completely free to residents of all ages.

Going beyond basic check-ups, the initiative ensured that patients diagnosed with critical cardiac conditions would receive free advanced treatments, including bypass surgeries, angioplasties, and pacemaker implantations. Navi Mumbai Mayor Sujata Patil attended as the chief guest alongside several local civic leaders.

“Sandeep Sahib has always guided us to host events that directly benefit the public,” said Corporator Suraj Patil. “Heart issues aren’t just affecting senior citizens anymore they’re impacting the youth, too. We wanted to offer complete cardiac care and free surgeries where needed, rather than just basic tests. It’s our way of honoring a leader who truly lives to serve.”

Over 900 local residents receive free medical check-ups, diagnostics, and eyewear in a community-first celebration.

The Camp

Celebrating a birthday usually means cake and festivities, but for former Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik, his supporters chose to mark the day by serving the local community. On August 4, a grand free health check-up camp was organized at Yadav Nagar in Digha by former Transport Committee member Viresh Singh, in collaboration with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Digha Mandal.

From early morning, long queues formed as nearly 900 residents from Ward Nos. 1 and 2 gathered to access healthcare services. Partnering with doctors from Apollo Hospital, the camp offered free consultations alongside screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid issues, ECG, and general health evaluations. In addition to medical checks, Viresh Singh personally funded and distributed free prescription eyeglasses to every attendee in need, extending the service beyond senior citizens to anyone requiring vision support.

“Ever since Sandeep Sahib stepped into public life, not a single year has passed where we haven’t celebrated his birthday with a blood donation drive, health camp, or helping those in need,” said Singh. “His focus has always been on health and community service, and this is our way of honoring that vision.”

The event drew strong community backing, with prominent local figures including Sanu Gupta, Mahesh Pandey, Suresh Pal, Mahendra Sonkar, and Shankar Yadav alongside local auto-rickshaw union members and BJP workers, coming together to wish the former MLA a happy birthday through meaningful action.
