Massive protests erupt in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir against road construction by China to move troops

The massive protest took place in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) on Friday over the Chinese move to build a 33- kilometer road, as residents of POK have launched massive protests against the Imran Khan-led Pakistan government as they allowed the people liberation army (PLA) to build a road in the occupied India territory. As it was going on since January 13 and on Friday it continues with a protest.
Amjad Ayub Mirza, an exiled activist from POK said that China is building 33 kilometers road from Yarkand to POK to move their artillery and military. This the second time this kind of protest is going on POK region. Last time it was to Poonch division but now it has gone of control.
The protest is intense this time, say activists
Activists Mirza said that this time protest is a big thing as it is spreading like a fire across 750 miles Line of Control(LOC). The people here are fed up with the infrastructural shortage. As the protest in POK started after the Imran Khan-led government arbitrarily announced the occupied territory as the fifth province of Pakistan.
“Now what is happening is not a single day is passing without any protest. As sometimes more than one protest took place in different parts of POJk. People every day protesting in Gilgit, Baltistan, POjk, Pakistani media does not report it. International media is allowed in those areas”.
“The whole government of POjk elected after 15 November is sitting in Islamabad, and enjoying their because it is very cold in Gilgit. The Government of Farooq Haider is called ‘miscreants’ by the people. Pakistan has no sentiments for POJK people as they have gone out of their hands” said Mirza.

Navi Mumbai Police Arrest African National With Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Ulwe

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.

The final day for filing nominations for the 2024 Vidhan Sabha General Election witnessed a surge of candidates in Thane district, with a total of 281 applications submitted across 18 assembly constituencies. This high turnout signals a competitive race for seats in the upcoming election.
