Man jumps in front of a train & kills himself after killing his girlfriend

The lifeless corpse of Vaishnavi Manohar Babar, 19, who had gone missing from Kalamboli for a month, was unexpectedly found in the Kharghar hill region. Following a thorough 10-day search, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the Navi Mumbai police discovered the heartbreaking finding. When it was discovered that Vaishnavi’s 24-year-old lover, Vaibhav Burungale, had reportedly strangled her to death and had later committed suicide close to Juinagar railway station, the case took an even more terrifying turn.

Vaishnavi was a student at a college in Sion, Mumbai. She was a resident of Sector-1, Kalamboli. She was dating Vaibhav for five years, and while they were encountering opposition to their inter-caste marriage, they were still planning to get married. On December 12, the tragedy started when Vaishnavi departed for college in the morning and never came back. Her mother went to the Kalamboli police station with concerns and filed a missing person’s report.

Vaibhav killed himself that same day by leaping in front of a local train close to Juinagar railway station when officials increased their search. Following the failure of Kalamboli police to identify Vaishnavi, a special investigative team of Senior Police Inspector Atul Aher, Women Assistant Police Inspector Neelam Pawar, Police Sub-Inspector Sharad Bhargude, and others was created.

Careful examination of cell phone data and CCTV video produced the case’s breakthrough. According to the inquiry, on December 12, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., Vaishnavi and Vaibhav were seen together in the Kharghar Hills region. A closer look of Vaibhav’s cell phone revealed an eight-page letter outlining his plan to murder Vaishnavi and take his own life because he thought he would be reunited with her in his next birth.

Vaibhav used a code word in his suicide letter, “L01-501,” which directed detectives to the isolated location where the horrific deed was carried out. Vaishnavi’s skeletal remains were finally found next to the tree designated as L01-501. The unfortunate motive behind the act was revealed by Amit Kale, Deputy Commissioner of Police act Branch. Family resistance based on caste distinctions derailed the couple’s preparations for marriage. Vaibhav became suspicious after receiving calls from a different guy to Vaishnavi, which ultimately resulted in a fatal outcome.
