Published

Many nations, including Germany, have supplied military aid to Ukraine in response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s repeated requests for more weaponry amid the battle with Russia. Poland, on the other hand, is currently urging Germany to deploy further military help to Ukraine. Mateusz Morawiecki, Poland’s prime minister, said he will lobby German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to assist Ukraine with more weapons. According to RIA Novosti, Morawiecki announced on Thursday that he will speak with Chancellor Scholz and attempt to persuade him to deploy additional munitions to Ukraine, citing the fact that this is a watershed moment in European and world history.

In addition, the Polish Prime Minister remarked that he would attempt to persuade Scholz to avoid purchasing Russian energy goods, adding that they must work together to safeguard freedom and increase the chances of peace and stability returning. He said that restoring security necessitates a clear rejection of Russian gas, oil, and coal.

‘It’s critical to emphasize the need of equipping Ukraine with weapons.’

He went on to say that it’s critical to emphasize the need of equipping Ukraine with weapons and that as a result, weapons must be delivered to Ukraine. Germany has recently come under fire for delaying the transfer of heavy weaponry to Ukraine. According to the Guardian, the Ukrainian government has stated that Scholz’s list does not include heavy equipment such as the Panzerhaubitze 2000 artillery system, which would allow its soldiers to mount a counter-offensive against Russian troops. Morawiecki remarked that this is a very tough position to fathom and that he will call Chancellor Scholz as soon as possible to persuade him to deliver more weapons to Ukraine.

At least 10,000 wounded Ukrainian soldiers are expected to arrive in Poland.

Meanwhile, the Polish Prime Minister claimed today that Poland’s health system can treat at least 10,000 injured Ukrainian soldiers as Russia prepares a fresh offensive in eastern Ukraine. Mateusz Morawiecki told reporters during a weekend visit to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv that Poland currently cares for “a few dozen” servicemen and is willing to welcome more. According to the United Nations, around 5 million Ukrainians have fled the war-torn country since the conflict began, with 2.8 million settling in Poland.
