For A Peaceful Ganeshotsav Celebration, Navi Mumbai Police Is Getting Ready

The Navi Mumbai Police is making great efforts to keep the peace and order throughout the celebrations in order to guarantee a happy and peaceful Ganeshotsav in 2024. Ganesha worshippers are encouraged by Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe to observe the law and observe the holiday in peace.

The Navi Mumbai Police have taken extensive preparations to make the festivities between September 7 and September 17 easier to manage. In the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate region, there will be put 886 public and 92,601 private Ganesh idols this year.

Important Setups Consist of:

1. Immersion Ghats: A total of sixteen immersion ghats have been established, with sites situated at Kalamboli, Koparkhairane, Turbhe, and Vashi, among other places.

There will be backup specialized groups available, such as bomb detection teams and strike forces.

4. Control of Noise Pollution: To guarantee that sound levels at public gatherings stay within the bounds of the law, anti-noise pollution squads will keep an eye on them. Officers are equipped with the necessary training to operate sound measuring equipment and enforce noise limits.

5. Public Awareness: At Ganeshotsav sites, law enforcement will run awareness programs about cybercrime and women’s safety. To discuss peaceful celebration and noise management, meetings have been conducted with the organizers of Ganesh Mandal and the owners of Dolby.

Navi Mumbai Police Arrest African National With Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Ulwe

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.
