Emerging as the Cheapest Mode Of Transportation, Navi Mumbai Metro generated a good revenue in its initial days

Published

The Navi Mumbai Metro collected Rs2.75 Lakh in just a couple of days from its start & was considered as the cheapest way of transportation in Navi Mumbai.

The Metro

After much anticipation, the much-needed Navi Mumbai metro service has finally begun, exciting locals since it offers reasonably priced and convenient transportation choices for ordinary residents. On the first day of its normal operation, it got an enormous amount of attention.

The Metro Serviced between Pendhar and Belapur collected around Rs2.75 lakh in revenue. There used to be three main ways for commuters to go from Kharghar railway station to Taloja: NMMT buses, Eco-Vans, and Auto Rickshaws. But now that the metro service has been established, travelers have a more affordable choice that not only beats the other options in terms of price but also offers a pleasant, pollution-free ride that is a pleasant relief.

A journey from Belapur to Taloja via NMMT costs ₹18, which is far less than the Rs140 imposed by auto rickshaws and the Rs25 to Rs30 for a shared eco-van cab from Kharghar railway station to Papadicha Pada. This serves as an example of how cost-effective the metro is. Notably, eco-vans only run when they are fully occupied, which makes them less convenient for commuters, while NMMT bus services are restricted and time-consuming.

Residents, particularly those in Kharghar and Taloja, can now enjoy a more pleasant and timely commute with metro services operating every 15 minutes between Belapur and Pendhar. In addition to addressing the issue of cost for the general public, the metro’s arrival improves the quality of transportation overall by providing a dependable and regular means of transportation in the busy Navi Mumbai area.
