Elon Musk says that after Twitters takeover he intends to acquire Coca-Cola
Elon Musk has been relentlessly talking about his future ideas & ambitions to transform the world place since he took over the microblogging site Twitter.
In his most recent tweet, Elon Musk, a billionaire investor and entrepreneur, joked that he would soon acquire Coca-Cola to reintroduce the drug.
“Next, I’m going to buy Coca-Cola to reintroduce the cocaine,” he said on Twitter.
While the following tweet appears to be a joke, it can be difficult to tell, as no one expected Musk’s statement about Twitter’s asking price to come true five years later.
Musk has previously written a spoof tweet in which he was asked to acquire McDonald’s and “repair all of the ice cream machines.”
Musk, on the other hand, cited the tweet and commented, “Listen, I can’t perform miracles, okay,” implying that McDonald’s ice cream machines would never be mended.
Elon Musk purchased the social media company Twitter for $44 billion on Monday, pledging to make it more open and adhere to free speech values. The world’s wealthiest man has stated that he wants to buy and privatize Twitter because he believes it is not living up to its promise as a free expression platform.
The South African-born entrepreneur offered 54.20 US dollars a share to the Twitter board, a 54 percent premium over the day before Musk began investing in Twitter and a 38 percent premium over the day before Musk’s investment was publicly publicized.
Elon Musk, who owns 9.2 percent of Twitter and is the company’s largest individual stakeholder, previously claimed that he has no trust in the present management and that the company’s ultimate potential would not be realized under them. He wanted to take Twitter private so that he could have ultimate control over the firm and steer it to its greatest potential.
The board of Twitter did all it could to thwart Elon Musk’s acquisition attempt, including using the poison pill method. However, the price Musk proposed, together with the sentiment of the majority of Twitter shareholders, prompted the Twitter board to act.
