Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given a number of directions to undertake vital traffic management measures in an effort to lessen the severe traffic congestion caused by vehicles from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). To guarantee improved traffic management, these steps include controlling the flow of large cars from JNPT and hiring more traffic wardens.

The Chief Minister has ordered that large trucks entering from JNPT be restricted in order to optimize traffic flow and avoid more traffic bottlenecks. To oversee these initiatives, the Thane Collector has been designated as the Nodal Officer.

The urgent need to patch potholes on the roadways that connect JNPT to Panvel, Pune, and Thane was again stressed by Chief Minister Shinde. In order to help the Navi Mumbai Police handle traffic from Navi Mumbai, Panvel, and the JNPT sectors, he gave CIDCO the order to send out 200 traffic wardens. JNPT is also responsible for supplying cranes so that large trucks may be handled more effectively.

The Chief Minister gave the order to build dedicated parking areas at Sonale, Padgha, and Asangaon on the Nashik highway in order to better control the parking of large trucks. In addition, he directed the Konkan Divisional Commissioner to send out a joint notification to halt heavy traffic between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.

He further emphasized how critical it is to do the required repairs, such as patching potholes and keeping drains clean. He ordered a daily evaluation of the project’s progress to guarantee its timely completion.
