Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Reveals The Provisional Plans For The Maharashtra Bhavan Project In Navi Mumbai

Ambitious interim plans for the Maharashtra Bhavan Project were revealed by Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Shree Eknath Shinde.

During an event at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Shree Eknath Shinde unveiled the ambitious interim plans for the Maharashtra Bhavan project. In order to satisfy a long-standing need, this project seeks to construct a magnificent Maharashtra Bhavan in Vashi, Navi Mumbai.

MLA Shreemati Manda Mhatre said at the meeting that she was thrilled to see the preliminary presentation that featured the stunning design of the upcoming Maharashtra Bhavan. The 14-story Bhavan will include a number of amenities for guests to enjoy, including as professional spaces, eating areas, function halls, suite rooms, and reception areas.

She further emphasized the project’s importance, saying that the Maharashtra Bhavan, which has a stunning statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on its facade, will serve as a symbol of pride for the state. She emphasized how crucial it is to pay respect to Maharashtra’s beloved icon and make sure the Bhavan continues to serve as a symbol of the state’s rich cultural legacy.

MLA Shreemati Manda Mhatre expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Shree Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister, CIDCO Managing Director, and other officials for their unwavering support. She also noted that the way forward for accommodating citizens from different parts of Maharashtra has been made possible by CIDCO’s allocation of plots for state-specific buildings in Vashi.

She went on to discuss the advantages of the Maharashtra Bhavan, saying that it will make it easier for people to find lodging when they travel to Mumbai for competitive examinations and job interviews. She underlined that the Bhavan’s construction will assist not just Navi Mumbai but the whole state by giving both locals and tourists alike access to much-needed lodging and amenities.

Navi Mumbai Police Arrest African National With Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Ulwe

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.

The final day for filing nominations for the 2024 Vidhan Sabha General Election witnessed a surge of candidates in Thane district, with a total of 281 applications submitted across 18 assembly constituencies. This high turnout signals a competitive race for seats in the upcoming election.
