Ajit Pawar recently disclosed that the state is now drafting a new MSME policy. “The government plans to provide tap water connections to about 1.47 crore people via the Jal Jeevan Mission. Under the Housing for All Scheme, 34,400 dwellings would be provided by the government for Divyang people, he stated.

Commercial operations at the Navi Mumbai International Airport are scheduled to begin by March 31, 2025, according to a statement made earlier by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. He stated in January that 55–60% of the project’s work was finished.

The Adani Group is in charge of developing the Navi Mumbai Airport project. It would be divided into five stages and be able to accommodate nine crore passengers annually in total.

The ability to handle two crore passengers annually would be shared by the first two stages. “The Navi Mumbai International Airport will be the first airport in the country with automated passenger movement within its 1600 hectares for ten km on city side and on airside,” the minister was quoted in a news statement. “A 100 percent green airport is being created in the first phase…,” he stated.

Phases three, four, and five will see the construction of the second runway, four terminals, and an expanded passenger capacity of 9 crore, he continued.

“Once all the five phases are completed, the airport will have four terminals and two runways,” Scindia had stated. In the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, the second airport project began construction in 2018.  There will be three routes connecting the airport to the road: NH 4B (348), the Sion Panvel Highway, and Atal Setu.

Rail access to the airport will be provided via the Targhar Railway Station. There will be metro connections to the airport via lines 2D and 8 (DN Nagar to Mandale and Mankhurd, respectively), as well as Navi Mumbai Pendhar Belapur Taloja and Mumbai Airport to Navi Mumbai Airport. In the future, Phase 2 planned to connect the airport with freight from Raigad and hovercraft from Colaba.
