Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of past Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, made an odd remark on Friday in response to her concerns over potholes in Mumbai. Amruta Fadnavis, speaking to media in Mumbai, alleged that “potholes are causing 3% divorces in Mumbai.” She further claimed that when she goes out, she encounters challenges such as potholes and traffic. In addition, Fadnavis stated that traffic in the city prevents individuals from spending time with their families.

“I always speak as though I were a regular citizen. When I go out, I notice several issues that affect us, such as potholes and traffic. I dress like a regular woman when I go out. Do you have any idea how many divorces are occurring as a result of the traffic jam? People who are unable to devote time to their families account for 3% of all divorces. When are you going to address these concerns?”
