Potholes Under Bokadvira–Naveen Sheva–Dronagiri Flyover Raise Serious Accident Fears

Published

on

Large potholes developing under the Bokadvira flyover, which connects Naveen Sheva and Dronagiri in Navi Mumbai, have become a major safety concern for daily commuters. Residents report that the severely damaged stretch is forcing both two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers to travel in the wrong direction to avoid the potholes, significantly increasing the risk of head-on collisions.

Local citizens allege that the Public Works Department (PWD) has failed to maintain the road, allowing the potholes to deepen and spread. They point out that early mornings, when traffic is light and vehicles move at higher speeds, are particularly dangerous, as drivers often fail to anticipate the damage beneath the flyover. Several near-miss incidents have already been reported, raising fears of a major accident if repairs are not carried out immediately.

Although CIDCO has performed limited patchwork on certain sections, the worst damage remains in the central stretch beneath the flyover. Residents say this partial repair work has done little to improve safety, and motorists continue to take risky detours to protect their vehicles.

Adding to the frustration is confusion over jurisdiction. The responsibility for the road is divided between CIDCO and the PWD, leading locals to question whether administrative delays and coordination issues are preventing timely repairs. With the condition of the road rapidly worsening, citizens are urging authorities to take immediate, coordinated action to prevent a serious mishap and restore safe travel through the corridor.
