Comprehensive actions are taken by NMMC, to reduce Air pollution in Navi Mumbai.

The Air Pollution

Under the direction of Municipal Commissioner Shree Rajesh Narvekar, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has started a comprehensive strategy to use creative methods to battle air pollution. Deployed with a water sprinkler system, dust suppression vehicles efficiently remove dust particles from the air by washing the main roads in the city with purified water.

An official from the NMMC said that the company has purchased multipurpose trucks for dust suppression and sprinklers under the National Clean Air Program and the Fifteenth Finance Commission. The region’s air quality is getting better thanks to these efforts. The C-Tech sewage treatment center treats the water used in these operations, guaranteeing not only efficient suspended dust management but also water conservation, so tackling several environmental issues at once.

“A proper plan has been made as per the Commissioner’s directives,” the official continued. Comprehensive road cleaning is provided in zone 1, which runs from Vashi Railway Station to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk. This portion includes locations like Sagar Vihar, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli node, Junction, and APMC Market. Similarly, in the zone-2, the initiative stretches from the Turbhe flyover along Thane Belapur Marg to T-Junction, the Airoli-Mulund Creek bridge, the Diva Koliwada Chowk Marg, the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial, and Turbhe.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is dedicated to keeping up the pace and making sure that all of the city’s streets and highways are constantly cleaned. The official added that water sprinklers are used to efficiently manage street dust and that processed water is used for street washing.
