On The Sukhapur To New Panvel Route, Commuters Suffer From Potholes

Published

on

The Adai Circle area’s roadways have suffered greatly from heavy rains, creating large potholes that are now a major hazard for travelers. Large potholes causing traffic congestion and car damage have made the section of road under the Panvel Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) authority from Sukhapur to New Panvel especially problematic.

The worsening road conditions have been a source of irritation for commuters heading towards Panvel from the Nere Dhodhani, Akurli, Harigram, and Morbe regions. Due to the uneven surface created by the difference between the lower tarred road and the recently built cement concrete road, cars must drive more cautiously, which lengthens travel times and frequently causes traffic bottlenecks during peak hours.

A commuter from the area said, “The potholes are not only slowing down traffic but also causing damage to vehicles.” “It’s becoming increasingly difficult to navigate through this area, especially during office rush hours.”

The Panvel Municipal Corporation is being urged by locals and commuters to act quickly to fix the potholes and restore smooth travel on this important route.

The Ecological Balance Of The Mangrove Zones Of Navi Mumbai Is Threatened By Illegal Godowns

Illegal godowns threaten Navi Mumbai’s ecological balance in mangrove zones.

The Godowns

Illegal godowns built by filling them with waste pose a severe danger to Navi Mumbai’s delicate mangrove zones. In addition to upsetting the natural equilibrium, this illegal practice increases the likelihood of flooding during periods of high precipitation.

According to reports, there is a rising tendency of land grabpers encroaching on mangroves and filling them with garbage to make way for unlicensed warehouses, such as coal and scrap godowns, to establish flat areas. Vital drainage systems in the Thane Belapur region are under risk due to the fast encroachment of areas like Sanpada, Juinagar, and Nerul.

The way in which the authorities have handled these crimes is being scrutinized; concerns have been made concerning the illicit generation of considerable income and the delivery of energy to these godowns. Fears about Navi Mumbai’s long-term effects on the ecology and infrastructure are voiced by concerned individuals.

The urgent necessity for action to safeguard mangrove ecosystems has been emphasized by the Forest Department, which has elevated the matter to CIDCO. This urgent environmental situation will be discussed at the conference tomorrow, highlighting how vital it is to protect Navi Mumbai’s natural legacy.

“We have sent a detailed report to CIDCO and it will be discussed in detail during a meeting,” a Forest Department Officer stated.
