Shiv Sena Steps In as Kharghar Commuters Raise Alarm Over NMMT Bus Woes

Kharghar Commuters Express Frustration Over NMMT Bus Chaos Spurs Shiv Sena Intervention.

The Issue

Mounting frustration among daily commuters at the NMMT bus stop near Kharghar railway station has drawn the intervention of the Shiv Sena’s Panvel unit, following persistent complaints about erratic bus services to Taloja Phase I, Phase II, and RAF areas.

For several months, passengers have struggled with inconsistent bus timings and service disruptions. A key concern is the frequent unavailability of buses due to staff absenteeism, often linked to prolonged meal breaks taken by drivers and conductors. With no backup system or proper communication in place, commuters are left stranded, sparking public outrage.

In response, local Shiv Sena leaders including Mangesh Ranade (City Coordinator, Panvel), Imtiaz Sheikh (City Organizer, Kharghar), Munaf Amirali (Area Head), and party worker Nikhat visited the troubled bus stop to hear commuters’ grievances firsthand. The visit exposed not only operational flaws in the NMMT system but also highlighted the civic administration’s apathy toward addressing daily challenges faced by the public.

Rather than opting for protest, the party has taken a constructive route. The leadership has pledged to hold urgent talks with NMMT officials to demand accountability and implement long-term, sustainable solutions. Commuters have welcomed the initiative, hoping the move translates into tangible results.

The proactive engagement by Shiv Sena signals a growing pressure on transport authorities to restore reliability in public services and prioritize the needs of Navi Mumbai’s daily travelers.
