President Biden extends economic aid to Kyiv on which Zelenskyy is Grateful
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hailed US President Joe Biden’s move and thanked him for extending aid to besieged Kyiv hours after Biden announced an additional $500 million in direct aid for Ukraine as the Russian assault continues. During a 55-minute phone discussion with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday, Biden informed him of an additional $500 million in aid. According to the White House, the leaders also discussed security aid that has already been sent to Ukraine, as well as the impact of armament on the fight.
In the meantime, Zelesnkyy pressed the Biden administration and other Western partners to give Ukraine combat jets during a telephonic discussion. “If we are truly united in our fight for freedom and democracy, we have the right to ask for assistance at this critical juncture. Tanks, planes, and artillery systems are all examples of military equipment. Liberty should be armed with the same weapons as oppression “According to Zelenskyy,
President Biden’s help to war-torn Ukraine
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the Biden administration has offered assistance to the war-torn country. Aside from the $500 million promised on Wednesday, Biden has delivered Ukraine over $2 billion in humanitarian and security help since the conflict began last month. This is all part of the $13.6 billion in funding for Ukraine that Congress approved earlier this month as part of a larger budget measure.
However, Zelenskyy told the Australian parliament on Thursday that the Russian invasion may destroy fighter jets but not Ukraine’s “soul” or sense of freedom. In addition, in a strong response to Russia’s invasion, Zelenskyy urged world leaders to quickly stop Moscow from attacking Ukraine, adding, “If we don’t stop Russia now, other countries with similar ambitions will take advantage of it.”
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine
Nearly two days after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree acknowledging the independence of separatist territories Donetsk and Luhansk, Russia launched a full-fledged war on Ukraine. Despite the West’s repeated warnings and suspicions about Putin’s ill-intentioned invasion of Ukraine, he has taken action.
. Russian troops launched a military campaign against Ukraine on February 24. It has been bombarding various cities in Ukraine since then, killing tens of thousands of civilians. On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to cease the war quickly, but he also stated that Russian soldiers would not be allowed to occupy any Ukrainian land.

Residents Raise Alarm Over Cigarette Sales to Students
Seawoods residents seek strict action against tobacco sales near educational institutions and public spaces.
The Cigarette Sales
Residents of Sector 25, Seawoods, Nerul, have raised concerns over students allegedly smoking in public places and the suspected sale of cigarettes to minors.
Following repeated complaints, the ward officer and local police conducted a raid at a paan shop on the ground floor of Ambika Heights on the night of September 11. Officials reportedly found cigarette cartons at the shop, but no other illegal intoxicating substances.
Residents said students, reportedly aged between 17 and 22, are frequently seen smoking near Seawoods railway station, the bridge and other public areas. They suspect that a local paan shop may be supplying cigarettes to college students. Prakash Yawalkar, president of the Seawoods Citizens Welfare Association, said students were openly smoking outside the shop, raising concerns among residents and parents.
The association has submitted complaints to the local police, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, mayor, local representatives and the Drug Department. It has urged authorities to strictly enforce the law prohibiting tobacco sales to minors and increase monitoring around schools, colleges and other student gathering points.
Residents said stronger action is needed to prevent tobacco use among young people and ensure that public spaces remain safe and healthy.
