Measures Are Taken By APMC Traffic Police To Control The Diwali Shopping Rush

Published

on

During the busy Diwali shopping season at the APMC market, the APMC Traffic Police have implemented several steps to avoid traffic congestion. During the festival season, there is usually an increase in the number of shoppers and vendors visiting the APMC Market and the nearby stores, which causes traffic congestion. The APMC Traffic Police are requesting assistance from both customers and retailers as they execute a number of tactics to solve this issue.

The APMC Traffic Branch’s Police Inspector Vimal Bidve has asked buyers—including customers and dealers—to assist in these initiatives. Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, and Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe, these actions have been taken.

The Mumbai Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) oversees five marketplaces, making it one of the biggest in Asia. Banks, transportation hubs, and other amenities pertaining to agriculture are situated beside these marketplaces. Retail and wholesale buyers from Thane, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, and other places bring their cars to this market and frequently leave them parked there for long stretches of time while they purchase. This frequently makes it very difficult to keep the area’s traffic flow moving smoothly.

Police Inspector Vimal Bidve thus stated that in order to address the problem of double parking, “they have issued warnings to motorists and have even resorted to using jammers to clear obstructions.” Additionally, as they frequently impede traffic, market owners have been advised to maintain pace (vehicles transporting supplies) in front of their establishments. Numerous vendors have complied with this request by moving their material vehicles to spaces that have been allocated for parking. Inspector Bidve reported that a letter has been addressed to Turbhe Division Officer Bharat Dhande requesting his intervention in order to combat the hawker harm.

When shopping for Diwali, Inspector Bidve has recommended people to use authorized parking places in order to significantly reduce traffic congestion. Customers are being urged to assist traffic police by parking their cars at designated spots, such as Mathadi Chowk to Punit Corner, Annapurna Chowk to Masala Market, and Mathadi Chowk to Akshar Building. The APMC Traffic Police hope that by adhering to these rules, everyone will have a more hassle-free and seamless holiday shopping experience.

The Hospital

Access to quality healthcare just got a major boost for local families. Meta Multispeciality Hospital officially opened its doors in Ghansoli Sector 4, promising state-of-the-art medical technology alongside a deeply human approach to community care.

The facility was inaugurated by Forest Minister and Palghar Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, who toured the premises to inspect its emergency wards, OPD facilities, and advanced diagnostic machinery. Speaking to attendees, Naik praised the hospital’s leadership for prioritizing affordable, high-quality treatment for middle-class households.

What sets the hospital apart, however, is its landmark social welfare initiative announced during the opening by community leader Sagar Chougule and hospital administrator Dr. Swarna Shelke:

  • Free Maternity Care for Girl Child Deliveries: To celebrate and encourage the birth of female children, the hospital will waive all delivery charges for mothers giving birth to baby girls.
  • Free OPD Services for Seniors: Outpatient consultations will be entirely free for senior citizens aged 65 and above.

“Healthcare shouldn’t feel like an unbearable financial burden,” said Dr. Shelke. “Our primary goal is to bring modern medical infrastructure within reach of every everyday citizen.”
