The incident was reported from the Karanjade area, and a case has been registered by Panvel City Police against unknown cyber fraudsters.
According to the police, the victim is a 59-year-old retired man residing in a housing society in Karanjade. BJP’s Navi Mumbai Defeat Sparks Internal Rift
Vishal Dolas Alleges Party Sabotage, Blames Vaibhav Naik for Ward 26-D Loss.
The Rift
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s defeat in Navi Mumbai’s Ward 26-D has triggered a fresh internal controversy, with former corporator and BJP candidate Vishal Dolas publicly blaming party infighting for his loss. Dolas was defeated by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) candidate Vishal “Vicky” Vichare by a margin of 534 votes in the recent civic elections.
In a strong statement, Dolas alleged that his defeat was not due to public rejection but the result of internal sabotage within the BJP. He specifically named Vaibhav Naik, son of senior BJP leader and Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, accusing him of actions that weakened his campaign at a crucial stage.
According to Dolas, misleading and false messages were circulated against him on local social media platforms towards the end of the campaign, creating confusion among voters. He claimed these messages damaged his credibility and impacted the final result. Dolas further alleged that just two days before polling, Vaibhav Naik held a meeting with an opposition candidate and indirectly supported them, calling the act a deliberate attempt to undermine his prospects.
Describing the incident as a serious breach of party discipline, Dolas said such actions demoralize grassroots workers who campaign with dedication. He warned that if internal conflicts and indiscipline are ignored, the BJP could suffer further setbacks in Navi Mumbai.
Dolas has stated that he has conveyed his concerns to senior party leadership and is seeking action. The episode has once again highlighted internal tensions within the BJP’s Navi Mumbai unit, raising questions about unity and coordination ahead of future elections.
