In CIDCO Colony, Water Problems Continue Due to Burst MJP Pipes
Citizens of Panvel City, which includes Karanjade, Kalamboli, and New Panvel of CIDCO Colony, are still facing a severe water scarcity due to problems with the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP)-managed water distribution system.
Due to an unexpected break in a MJP water pipe, CIDCO Colony’s water supply was cut off four days ago while repairs were made. The inhabitants’ problems are made worse by the fact that the water supply has not been restored even after the repair work was finished. Additionally, it has been reported that the old water pipes in Sector 15, New Panvel are prone to breaking often, wasting hundreds of litres of potable water per day.
MJP provides water to a number of communities in Panvel City, including Karanjade, Kalamboli, and New Panvel. However, neighbors point out that widespread water theft exacerbates the situation in addition to infrastructural problems.
Officials and staff at MJP are dealing with the fallout from these difficulties as burst pipes keep popping up in new places on a daily basis. The problem is made worse by the slow rate at which water channels are being replaced, which mostly affects CIDCO Colony residents.
The persistent water problem in CIDCO Colony is primarily affecting taxpayers, even if attempts are being made to alleviate the growing water demands of the slum population. Water shortages remain despite promises from local officials, which emphasizes the critical need for extensive infrastructure changes and strict measures to prevent water theft.

Online Gaming Addiction Leaves Navi Mumbai Man Claiming Rs 2.5 Crore Loss
Jayesh Pawar alleges massive financial losses and urges authorities to act against gaming platforms.
The Addiction
The growing popularity of online gaming for quick money is raising concerns in Navi Mumbai, with one resident claiming that he lost around Rs 2.5 crore after becoming trapped in the cycle of online gaming.
Navi Mumbai resident Jayesh Pawar has approached the authorities seeking action, alleging that he suffered huge financial losses through online gaming platforms. He also claimed that he lost around Rs 35 lakh at one stage while trying to recover earlier losses.
According to Pawar, the problem often begins with small bets. Initial wins can create confidence, encouraging players to invest larger amounts. Once losses begin, players may put in even more money in the hope of recovering what they have already lost.
Pawar claimed that he is not the only person facing such difficulties. He said several young people have reportedly lost lakhs and even crores through online gaming. Some, he alleged, borrowed money or sold property to continue playing.
The issue has also raised concerns about the wider impact of gaming addiction, including financial stress and problems within families. Pawar has urged the authorities to investigate such platforms and take appropriate action. His case has highlighted the need for greater awareness about the risks of chasing quick profits through online gaming.
