According to the latest reports, renowned leader Sachin Pilot has been sacked by Congress party from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan as well as the state Party President. The decision came after rebel leader Sachin Pilot skipped the second Congress Legislative Party (CLP) on Tuesday.
Besides Pilot, other two ministers of Rajasthan Cabinet, Vishvender Singh and Rajesh Meena, are also fired who supported Pilot in rebelling against the current regime in the State. Mukesh Bhaskar, President of Rajasthan Youth Congress has been removed too. He had tweeted yesterday that loyalty in Congress meant being a slave to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
.
Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress spokesperson announced the removal of Sachin Pilot and stated that the Congress party feels upset about the veteran leader Sachin Pilot and some of his supporting MLAs falling into the trap of opposition party BJP, aiming to topple the Gehlot government. As reported by ANI, OBC leader and state Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra, has been appointed as the new Rajasthan Congress Chief.
It is being said that the 102 MLAs who attended the second CLP meeting at Hotel Fairmont in Jaipur had unanimously demanded the removal of Pilot and the other two ministers. Despite being asked several times by senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, KC Venogopal, and Ahmed Patel, Pilot still didn’t attend the CLP meeting.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has accused BJP of plotting this entire episode and said Sachin Pilot played into their hands. Gehlot spoke to the media that they had tried a lot to reach out but hobnobbing with the BJP has taken place to destabilise the Congress government in Rajasthan.
The 42-year-old youth leader, Sachin Pilot, reacting to the news has tweeted that the truth “can be harassed but not defeated.” He even updated his Twitter bio and changed it to “Tonk MLA” from “deputy chief minister of Rajasthan” and “president, Rajasthan Congress “.
