Potholes & worsening road conditions concern Kharghar residents.

The Issue

Potholes and bad road conditions are becoming a bigger problem for Kharghar in a number of different industries. Locals are complaining about the condition of the roads, claiming that they are getting harder and harder to drive on from Sector 20 to Sector 35.

Due to the prevalence of large, dangerous potholes on many roads that endanger cars, bicycles, and pedestrians, potholes have become a major source of worry.
Due to these road dangers, residents reported regular incidents of car damage and accidents. In addition, everyone finds commuting difficult and uncomfortable due to the uneven terrain.

“These days, I hate traveling through Kharghar. There are potholes everywhere; it seems like you’re driving through a crater on the moon. It’s hazardous in addition to being inconvenient, according to Sector 21 resident. The primary route in Sector 34, 35, which connects Prashant Corner to Village 20-21, is in extremely poor shape. Even though nearby roadways are being fixed, the roads outside Sector 15’s Goodwill Paradise and the intersection close to Swarna Jewellers are still in disrepair.

Congestion at Tawa Junction gets worse by the lack of a traffic signal. The widespread unlawful parking near Neelkanth Sweets and Bank of India in Sector 35 was also brought to the attention of the locals.

Potholes are just one aspect of the bad road conditions. The rainy season makes the issue of many roads’ cracks, uneven surfaces, and insufficient drainage systems worse. Rainfall during the monsoon season often causes waterlogging, which deteriorates roadways even more and puts commuters in danger.

One person was hurt in a serious automobile collision that happened on Friday, April 19, on busy Palm Beach Road close to Sanpada. The event caused traffic disruptions. According to preliminary accounts, the collision occurred on the road from Belapur to Vashi and was most likely caused by excessive speed, a common problem on the extremely fast-paced Palm Beach Road, which is also referred to as Navi Mumbai’s “Queen’s Necklace.”

Witnesses said that a fast-moving Honda City vehicle heading towards Belapur via Vashi lost control close to Sanpada, slamming into a median and then an adjacent tree. The force of the crash caused the tree to be uprooted and caused substantial damage to the automobile. Following the collision, Akhil Pillai, the driver, was taken to the hospital for treatment after suffering injuries.

Congestion was made worse by a brief traffic restriction along Palm Beach Road following the incident. However, the affected area’s normalcy was restored and the bottleneck was lessened thanks to the traffic authorities’ quick response.

At the Program prominent people present were, Airoli MLA Shree Ganesh Naik, former MP of Thane, Dr Sanjeev Naik, Social worker Shreemati Kalpana Naik, Youth leader Shree Sankalp Naik and innumerable followers of Jeevan Vidya Mission. During this, Shree Sanjeev Naik took the blessings of Pariwar Sangh Social Enlightener Shree Prahlad Vamanrao Pai ji.

During the program, Stree Samman Award were handed out through the hands of Shree Prahlad Vamanrao Pai and Shreemati Malan Tai Pai to the women who have made valuable contribution to the work of Vidya Mission with all their heart and soul. Not only this, a social enlightenment program was also organized on the topic of family happiness of enlightener Shree Shri Prahlad Vamanrao Pai, which was attended by a large number of Jeevan Vidya Mission members.

While the followers took advantage, special programs like Haripath Sangeet, Jeevan Vidya, Vishwa Prayer, Chanting Yagya were also organized on this occasion. This program proved to be a symbol of extreme spiritual peace and respect for women power, which has created a new consciousness in today’s young generation.
