AAP can run for office but the BJP is the constant choice of the people : Gujarat CM
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel dismissed the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) challenge to the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in Gujarat, saying the party will win the state’s Assembly elections later this year. After winning Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP has turned its attention to Gujarat. After gaining 27 seats in the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) in February 2021, Kejriwal challenged the saffron party, alleging it was the only party that had done so.
“Any party, whether it AAP or any other, can contest elections,” CM Patel told ANI. It is a fundamental component of our democratic system. We don’t work for polls in the BJP. The AAP received a lot of attention during the Gandhinagar corporation elections, however, they were defeated, with the BJP winning 41 of the 44 wards.” Gujarat’s chief minister has added his two cents.
In Gujarat, the BJP is seeking a sixth term.
Speaking further on AAP and elections, the CM stated that it is too early to discuss elections and that AAP contesting elections in the state is what democracy is all about.
“India is a thriving democracy, and if voters choose to give the Opposition in Gujarat just a few seats, whether to AAP or Congress, remains to be seen.” People in the state have consistently voted for the BJP. We will work hard in the future, but our track record shows that we are the greatest choice for the people of Gujarat as we seek a sixth term,” he added.
‘No one could ever walk in his shoes,’ says Bhupendra Patel of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Patel went on to say that everyone draws inspiration from I’m when it comes to moving PM’s job ahead in his state.
“It’s only natural that Prime Minister Modi inspires all of the party’s workers. We’re merely attempting to advance his work. “No one wants to, or can ever, put themselves in his shoes,” he remarked.
The CM also commented on the change of reign in September of last year, saying “The BJP is a party of hardworking people. Our government and organization collaborate rather than work in silos. Between these two, there is no shortage of cooperation.”

Morbe Dam Water Storage Crosses 60% Capacity Amid Sustained Monsoon Rains
Bringing significant relief to the residents of Navi Mumbai, the water storage level in the Morbe Dam the primary drinking water source for the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) region has successfully crossed the 60% mark following continuous monsoon showers in its catchment area.

Civic officials reported that the steady influx into the catchment zone, located in the foothills of Khalapur in the Raigad district, has significantly replenished the reservoir’s usable reserves.
With the dam’s capacity exceeding 60%, local civic authorities confirm that the immediate water supply outlook for the city has improved substantially, ensuring sufficient drinking water stock for the coming months. The NMMC continues to closely monitor daily rainfall patterns and water collection at the reservoir to maintain steady distribution across all municipal zones.

Navi Mumbai Police Bust Inter-District Gang Targeting Senior Citizens Inside Housing Societies
The Central Crime Branch of Navi Mumbai Police has busted an inter-district gang targeting elderly women inside housing societies to snatch gold chains and mangalsutras, arresting three suspects identified as Riyaz Ramzan Shaikh, Jamalbadshah Manirul Gazi, and Ashik Billa Gazi.
The police recovered stolen goods worth Rs 12 lakh from the trio, including 95 grams of gold ornaments and two motorcycles used in the commission of the crimes. The investigation was triggered by a chain-snatching incident in Khandeshwar on May 15, where CCTV footage clearly captured one of the suspects.
By matching the visuals with criminal databases, technical intelligence, and local informant tips, police traced the gang to Mira Road and Bihar. Investigations revealed that the gang specifically entered residential complexes to target senior citizens before escaping on stolen two-wheelers using familiar local shortcuts, which one suspect knew well from his prior employment in Kamothe.
To evade law enforcement, the culprits would quickly sell the stolen gold in the region and flee to their native villages in West Bengal and Bihar. With their arrest, the police have solved at least nine cases of theft and robbery across Navi Mumbai, Mira Road, and neighboring areas. The accused, who carry prior charges involving vehicle theft and drug trafficking, have been remanded to judicial custody as authorities work to curtail similar residential property crimes.
