Six people were hurt when a ride at the amusement park in Navi Mumbai collapsed

Six people, including two children, were hurt after they fell from an umbrella-shaped joyride at the amusement park on Saturday night, just days after Chief Minister Eknath Shinde opened the renovated Wonders Park in Nerul in Navi Mumbai. At a cost of Rs 28 crore, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) renovated the amusement park in Nerul. On May 30, CM Shinde inaugurated it, and on June 1, it was made available to the general public.

Rajesh Narvekar, commissioner of the NMMC, has mandated an investigation into the accident. All seven of Wonders Park’s attractions, according to the authorities, have been open since June 1. They noted that Wonders Park’s operator, Ms. Ashwini Construction and Infra, had separate operators assigned to each of the seven rides, and that technicians had also conducted routine checks.

On June 3, however, at about 9 p.m., the disaster happened when the attraction Sky Swinger was undergoing a mechanical check. The mishap resulted in minor injuries for about six persons. They were all immediately taken to a local hospital and treated there before being released. “It is terrible that such an incidence occurred, and it is a serious concern. The situation should be thoroughly investigated, and after determining the tragedy’s cause, appropriate action should be taken against those accountable, according to Narvekar.

The government has been under fire from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena for the disaster.

Why was the Wonders Park opened so quickly? The rides lacked safety. Local MNS leader Savinay Mhatre stated, “We demand an inquiry into the incident and that the offenders be punished. The Wonders Park was renovated by the NMMC when it was closed because to the Covid-19 epidemic.

The people had urged that the Park be open for at least 15 days before it closes for the rainy season on June 15 because it will stay closed throughout that time.
