BJPs Mohit Kamboj criticizes Mumbai Police for investigating at MVAs request
In the issue of the alleged attack on former Lok Sabha MP Kirit Somaiya, BJP leader Mohit Kamboj accused the Mumbai Police of acting at the behest of the MVA-led Maharashtra government on Tuesday. In a press conference, Bharatiya urged that the attack on Somaiya, which occurred during the boiling Hanuman Chalisa dispute, should be investigated by a high-level commission. He was speaking to the press outside the Khar police station, where Somaiya was making his on-camera testimony regarding the incident.
Mohit Kamboj, talking to the media about the investigation into the attack on BJP leader Somaiya, blasted the state’s law-and-order condition. Bharatiya said that the police deleted the word “attempt to murder” from the charge submitted by Somaiya, accusing them of acting for the MVA government’s interests. “The attack on Kirit Somaiya should be investigated by a high-level body,” Bharatiya added.
“Mumbai Police is acting on the MVA government’s orders.” The law and order scenario has been thrown into chaos. The assailants were not retaliated against. “Policing is being compromised here,” the BJP leader remarked. Bharatiya also launched an assault on the police, claiming that they are taking no action against Somaiya’s assailants. “The manner he (Kirit Somaiya) was attacked but no FIR was registered, it was an attempted murder and no FIR was filed.” From outside the Khar police station, the BJP leader added, “No action was done against the perpetrator.”
Bharatiya said the police were discriminating in their actions when talking to sources from outside the venue. “Those who caused a commotion outside Sharad Pawar’s home were arrested right away. Those who smashed the barriers outside Navneet and Ravi Rana’s residence, however, were not prosecuted. The accused have been released on bail, according to the BJP leader. Somaiya made the statements while providing an on-camera complaint to Khar police about the incident, which left him with a slight injury.
Kirit Somaiya makes a police report in response to a fraudulent police report.
Somaiya filed a complaint at the Khar Police Station on Tuesday, alleging that a fraudulent FIR was filed in his name, which he had not signed. Kirit Somaiya’s car was vandalized on his way home from seeing arrested independent MP Navneet Rana and her MLA spouse Ravi Rana at the police station. “A phony FIR was lodged against me by the Bandra Police Station, and Mumbai CP Sanjay Pandey initiated action against me based on that fake FIR. Without my signature, how can the Mumbai CP file an FIR? “After filing a new FIR at the Khar Police Station, the BJP leader stated.
“On the orders of CM Uddhav Thackeray, Mumbai CP Sanjay Pandey did not submit my FIR. I filed a complaint against police officers who filed a false FIR in my name in connection with the Khar incident “, stated Kirit Somaiya.
Kirit Somaiya claims Shiv Sena thugs attacked him.
On Saturday, the Shiv Sena allegedly attempted to murder Somaiya in the sight of police officers. He further alleged that outside the Khar Police Station in Mumbai, “100 thugs” from the governing party hurled stones at his car, injuring him. Somaiya was arrested when Independent Amravati MP Navneet Rana and her husband, MLA Ravi Rana, were arrested at the Khar Police Station. The Ranas were apprehended earlier in the day, only hours after canceling a planned recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa at CM Uddhav Thackeray’s private mansion.
