The truth will be revealed said Karnatakas chief minister on resignation of B.S. Eshwarappa

On Friday, April 15, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai stated the withdrawal of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Minister KS Eshwarappa, whom police have charged with abetting contractor Santosh Patil’s suicide, cannot be deemed a “setback” for the administration.

He said the probe will reveal the truth, and he urged the opposition Congress, which is seeking Eshwarappa’s arrest, to refrain from acting as investigators, prosecutors, or judges.

“He’s made a decision (Eshwarappa). He shall resign tonight.  I spoke with him yesterday and he has taken a firm stance and is retiring freely. He claims to be completely innocent. He has requested a prompt inquiry and is convinced that he would be found not guilty of the charges leveled against him “According to Bommai, who spoke to the media.

In answer to a query on whether Eshwarappa was the victim of a plot, CM Bommai stated that the inquiry will reveal this.

“The truth will come out as the inquiry moves forward from all sides,” he stated.

Today evening, Eshwarappa would submit his resignation letter to Chief Minister Bommai.

As a political storm arose, Eshwarappa announced his resignation as Minister on Thursday evening. On Friday evening, he would submit his resignation letter to Bommai.

In response to a query about opposition parties calling for Eshwarappa’s arrest, the Chief Minister stated the police should first examine the situation.

“Was K J George (a minister of the Congress government who was implicated by a cop before committing suicide) detained by the Congress government? Despite the NDA government at the Centre, neither the Karnataka police nor the CBI had arrested him. Police will determine whether or not to make an arrest “he stated.

“Allow police to undertake a fair inquiry, and the truth will come out,” he urged, urging Congress leaders not to become detectives, prosecutors, or judges.

The contractor in Karnataka dies

Santosh Patil, a contractor from Belagavi, was discovered dead at a hotel in Udupi on Tuesday, only weeks after accusing Eshwarappa, a top BJP politician, of corruption.

Patil had blamed Eshwarappa for his death in an alleged suicide note in the form of a WhatsApp message.

Udupi town police arrested Eshwarappa for abetting Patil’s suicide after receiving a complaint from a family member.

In response to a query about whether the incident is a setback for the government, Bommai stated that the truth would come out about the events that have occurred, as well as the road construction that Santosh Patil is claimed to have done without a work order.

“After the inquiry, it will be obvious who will experience difficulties and who will benefit…there is no question of a setback or a step ahead (for the government),” he continued.

Santosh Patil had protested to Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh and BJP central leaders last month, claiming that he had not yet been paid Rs 4 crore for road work done in Hindalga village and accusing Eshwarappa’s aides of wanting a fee for the payment.
