Chief Minister of Assam urged the Centre to stop PFI because it is radicalising people

Published

on

Assam Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party chairman Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the radical organization should be outlawed as more voices call for an investigation into the role of the Popular Front of India in the killing of Bajrang Dal activist Harsha. Sarma claimed the organization was engaging in subversive actions in an interview with the media. People’s radicalization is also a factor.

“For a long time, Assam has demanded a comprehensive prohibition on PFI, and we continue to urge that the PFI be outlawed immediately by the federal government. I have no objections to what they are doing in the instance of the hijab, which is a democratic protest. They are, however, directly involved in subversive activities…in radicalizing people “the Assam chief minister and BJP leader remarked, adding that he is confident that the demand will be entertained at some stage.

Harsha, a 23-year-old Bajrang Dal member, was attacked by unidentified assailants in Karnataka’s Shiavmogga district on Sunday night. He was brought to Mc Gann District Hospital and died there.

Three people have been arrested in the murder case in Karnataka, according to the state’s home minister.

As public demand for PFI’s involvement in the murder intensifies, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra addressed a press conference earlier in the day, promising the arrest of all those responsible. The Karnataka Home Minister acknowledged to reporters that three arrests had already been made in the case and that they are currently being probed. More arrests are expected as a result of the interrogation, he said.

“On how to proceed, we’ll make a decision. Right now, it’s too soon “Many people, including Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, have demanded that the NIA investigate the murder case, and Jnanendra has responded.

Several Bajrang Dal workers gathered outside the Mc Gann district hospital to protest Harsha’s brutal murder, which prompted the district to implement Section 144. Jnanendra said the government will not allow peace and order to worsen or protests to go beyond Shivamogga. He disclosed that Bengaluru forces were being brought in to ensure the deployment of sufficient security personnel.

“We will not allow protests to grow because we have sufficient security personnel, including the Royal Air Force. Bengaluru personnel are also being dispatched “Karnataka’s Home Minister stated this.
