Police Suspect A Woman’s Boyfriend Killed Her After Finding Her Dead In Navi Mumbai Lake

A young woman aged 19, was discovered dead in a lake in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. A police officer believes her boyfriend, who subsequently killed himself, killed her.
At 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a few fisherman near a school in Belapur discovered the corpse in the lake and alerted the authorities.

After then, the police raced to the site and took the body away. According to an official, the woman has been identified as Bhavika More, a student at a college in Nerul.

According to the results of the preliminary inquiry, the woman was seeing Swastik Patil, a 22-year-old male.

They both proceeded toward the lake at about 4 p.m., but they never came back, according to nearby CCTV footage.

The man is suspected by the police of having gotten into a fight with the woman, killing her by strangulation, disposing of her body in the lake, and then taking his own life.

Now, authorities are attempting to locate the male as well.

According to a police official, the autopsy report will be obtained before the precise reason of the woman’s death is ascertained.

He said that as of right now, the police have reported an unintentional fatality.

Navi Mumbai Police Arrest African National With Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Ulwe

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.

Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.

An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.
