Clean-up efforts are starting in Panvel along Court Road
In Navi Mumbai the Panvel city municipal corporation started cleaning the surroundings after receiving a tip regarding trash outside the extra sessions court in Panvel. The title of a television news story from November 6 on the rubbish problem was “Now, road leading to sessions court cluttered with garbage.” For months, the PCMC has been disregarding the same. Beginning the cleaning operation on the roadside and in part on the open plot of the police colony were a group of PCMC waste contract employees outfitted with cleaning supplies. The cleaning task, however, could not be finished in a single day. “In response to the press story, our employees have begun the task of clearing up the rubbish.
The task could not be completed since there was no excavator available. According to sanitary inspector Shailesh Gaikwad, the cleaning would continue until the entire area has been cleansed. The PCMC officials must take sanitary problems seriously since they affect the general population. It’s encouraging to see the municipal body representatives move quickly, said attorney Zameer Shaikh.
