The founder of Environment Life Foundation and a Green Warrior from Navi Mumbai, Dharmesh Barai, has launched an attempt to prevent the unneeded dumping of “Nirmalya” during the current Ganesh festival along the city’s waterways. On social media and YouTube, he spoke out and raised awareness. He raised awareness among the populace about the negative effects of trash disposal in the ocean or nearby water bodies and asked for their help in convincing people not to dispose of ‘Nirmalya’ and other puja items in the ocean or nearby water bodies. He also educated people about water pollution, the extinction of marine life, and the slow demise of mangrove belts. He has advised followers to dispose of old puja items in the Nirmalya kalash made available by the municipality.

He also promoted beach cleaning on Saturday at the Juhu Beach clean-up campaign. Massive Nirmalya dumps may be seen on Mumbai’s seashores during Visarjan. During the Juhu Beach Cleanup on Saturday, September 16, we encourage and raise awareness about the correct disposal of puja materials, according to Barai. In addition to flowers, garlands include a lot of plastic waste that has been deposited, endangering marine life and mangroves. He worked with Earth Day Network on Saturday, September 16, on World Cleanup Day, along with other clean-up volunteers.

Mangroves soldiers of Environment Life Foundation, Earth Day Network-India, and the Indian Coast Guard joined forces on “World Clean-up Day 2023” for a beach clean-up and funfair that had a lasting effect on the community and the clean-up volunteers. “Planet vs Plastic” was the slogan for the Juhu Beach Drive. Everyone who took part in the programme was motivated to combat plastic pollution by using the 3R formula of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycling.

Leading environmental activists Stalin Dayanand, Nandakumar Pawar, Avinash Thawani, Mumbai March, Vanashakti, India Sambedana, Das Mohapatra, and Vinayak Salunkhe participated in the clean-up operation and spread awareness.
