The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has organised a number of projects under the Indian Swachhta League (ISL) 2.0 with an emphasis on wide-ranging public engagement. A major mass promise for cleanliness was held at nine venues across all eight divisions. More than 114,000 students, young people, and locals took part in this activity, which greatly increased Navi Mumbai’s awareness of cleanliness and sense of community.

Similar to that, a cutting-edge project designed for the digital era was unveiled in Navi Mumbai’s famed Wonders Park. 26,133 people signed a digital promise to keep the city clean in a single day, displaying their commitment to doing so. The idea of “Kacharamukt Bharat” (Garbage-Free India) has received a lot of attention under the “Swachh Bharat Mission,” with the intention of including youngsters in the creation of garbage-free towns. The “Youth V/S Garbage” advertisement highlights the value of cleanliness to the younger generation. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is organising several programmes with enthusiastic young engagement under the direction of Rajesh Narvekar, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner.

In this manner, Wonders Park organised a special programme known as the “Digital Oath of Cleanliness.” Free admittance was offered at Wonders Park for one day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to encourage residents to take part in this programme. Citizens then enjoyed a laser show on the water fountain after taking the digital oath. Thousands of people came here with their family to enjoy a Wonders Park tour.

Ten digital gadgets were placed here for anyone to use to take the digital pledge. Citizens exhibited the oath on the nearby LED panels after placing their palm on the device’s hand-shaped line. The pledge includes promises to separate garbage at home, refrain from using single-use plastics, and help keep their neighbourhood and city clean. A thank-you message and the group’s membership number of the New Mumbai Eco Nights Group, of which they have now become members, were then shown on the digital screen after they had taken the oath. In this way, 26,133 people participated in the New Mumbai Eco Nights Group on a single day from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and took a digital oath.

The renowned award for the country was won by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation last year for having the greatest rate of young engagement in a city in the Indian Swachhta League. The municipality has launched an innovative programme called “Navi Mumbai Eco Knights” under the direction of famous musician, vocalist, and brand ambassador of the Swachh Navi Mumbai project, Padma Shri Shankar Mahadevan, with an emphasis on sustaining this extraordinary accomplishment.

Numerous programmes, including the cutting-edge Digital Swachhta Shapath, have been organised as a result of this project. The Digital Swachhta Shapath was a successful initiative since more than 26,000 persons took part.
