Two people are detained in Panvel for murder
Two people were detained by Unit 2 of the Crime Branch of the Panvel Taluka police for allegedly killing a 45-year-old man and leaving the body in his car.
Around 6.40 p.m. on November 18, a constable assigned to the Panvel Taluka police station was informed that a red Audi with the licence plate MH-14-GA-9585 was parked on the side of the road in Taragaon, Panvel. When the police arrived on the scene, they discovered someone laying behind the driver’s seat.
His body had five gunshot wounds in the chest, and it was half decomposed. The man was identified by his ID card as Sanjay Karle (45), a Talegaon Dabhade resident. The first inquiry revealed Karle was a history-sheeter as well and had recently been released from prison. Police from Panvel Taluka were looking into the crime, and Unit 2 of the Crime Branch was also looking into it. The team was commanded by Senior Inspector Ravindra Patil, API Pravin Phadtare, and Sandeep Gaikwad.
“To track Karle’s car’s travels, we looked at CCTV video from the Mumbai-Pune motorway up till Panvel. As we looked through the CCTV tape, we discovered two suspects with the dead “explained a representative of Unit 2. He said, “The suspect had turned off their mobile phones and were on the run.
Charges have been brought against Mohasin Mulani and Ankit Kamble alias Sai under IPC sections 302 (murder), 34 (common purpose), and pertinent provisions of the Arms Act. They were found to be in possession of a country-made handgun and three live bullets. The suspects were delivered to the police station in Panvel Taluka.

Sanjay, who passed away In Yerwada prison, Karle had encountered the accused Mohsin. Karle was imprisoned for defrauding others of their money under the guise of providing them with gold. Following his release from prison, Karle informed Mohsin that he would provide him gold at a lower price. Mohsin had his doubts, but Karle reassured him that he wouldn’t trick him because they were friends. Mohsin had given Karle R7 Lakh but was tricked.
Mohsin shot Karle five times after the gun fell during the struggle, and they fled the area of Panvel after leaving the car.

Navi Mumbai Police Arrest African National With Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Ulwe
The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Navi Mumbai Police arrested Jeorge Ocante DaSilva, a 35-year-old native of Guinea, on Monday for possessing 410 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for illegal sale. Acting on a tip-off, API Alka Patil of the AHTU led a raid at RM Heights Building in Ulwe, where DaSilva was found in possession of the narcotics.
Around 2:30 p.m. on October 28, officers discovered 410 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1,02,50,000, hidden in DaSilva’s bedroom. Authorities also seized a mobile phone, a black Tabata weighing scale, scissors, plastic packaging bags, and a sky bag, bringing the total seizure value to Rs 1,02,55,610.
An FIR was filed at Panvel City Police Station under Sections 8(a) and 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Dasilva was presented in court and remanded to police custody until October 31, 2024. Investigations are ongoing, with the Crime Branch seeking potential accomplices and sources of the narcotics. Notably, Dasilva has a prior NDPS case registered at Nahar Police Station in Mumbai.
