Khalistan Zindabad chants were chanted in Bathinda

At a gathering held in honour of late Punjabi cinema actor Deep Sidhu on Monday, “Khalistan Zindabad” slogans were chanted.

According to sources, fans of Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu, who died in a traffic accident in Ludhiana’s Tharike village on February 15, held a demonstration in his honour on February 21 in Punjab’s Bathinda.

Several pro-Khalistani forces were seen hoisting ostensibly Khalistan flags and yelling “Khalistan Zindabad” slogans as they marched through Bathinda’s streets. In honour of the actor, who died in a car accident last week, admirers yelled “Deep Sidhu Zindabad.”

During the rally in Bathinda, posters of Khaliistani terrorists Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Deep Sidhu were also displayed.

The pro-Khalistan protest was held in the presence of Punjab police, which was shocking. Khalistani protestors chanted anti-India slogans while the Punjab police stood by silently.

The footage of a pro-Khalistan demonstration in Bhatinda, Punjab, has gone viral on the internet, causing widespread resentment among the country’s residents.

Several social media users have demanded that anti-India groups in Punjab be prosecuted for endangering the country’s security and integrity by promoting a pro-Khalistani agenda. One user questioned the Punjab government, which is governed by Congress, for allowing such anti-national demonstrations.

The Khalistanis have used the demise of actor Deep Sidhu to reignite the Khalistan movement, according to Anshul Saxena.

Likewise, the Anti-Terrorist Front of India has given the Punjab police an ultimatum to act against anti-India forces who are raising pro-Khalistan slogans. If Punjab police do not take action against pro-Khalistanis within the next 48 hours, ATF President Veeresh Shandilya has threatened to file a complaint in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

During Deep Sidhu’s cremation, supporters sang “Khalistan Zindabad.”

Hundreds of Khalistani supporters turned out for actor Deep Sidhu’s cremation, shouting pro-Khalistan chants.

They chanted, “Saadi (Hamari) majboori hai, Khalistan zaroori hai,” as they wanted independence and a separate territory known as Khalistan. The Sikh youth also chanted “banke rahega Khalistan” and requested an investigation into Sidhu’s death, who was one of the culprits in the Delhi riots in 2021.

People who attended Deep Sidhu’s funeral screamed the words “Khalistan Zindabad” over and over again around his pyre. Pro-Khalistan banners were also carried by a few of them.

On February 15, Deep Sidhu was killed in a car accident near Delhi on the KMP (Kundli-Manesar) Highway. Various Sikh organisations that attended the cremation, according to sources, said that Sidhu’s killing was a premeditated murder and that the state should investigate. Reena Rai, Sidhu’s girlfriend, was in the car with him and survived the crash thanks to the airbags.

Deep was indeed a Khalistani enthusiast who was detained in February of last year after taking part in the desecration of the Red Fort during a violent tractor demonstration. Khalistani protesters had attacked security and police officers stationed at Red Fort, as well as disrespected India’s national flag by displaying two additional flags with Sikh emblems. The pro-Khalistan factions applauded his act of desecration of the Red Fort.

In December 2020, a video of Sidhu speaking in English went viral, catapulting him into the spotlight. Deep Sidhu was spotted pretending to be a farmer and predicting that the farmers’ demonstrations will be a watershed point in Indian and South Asian geopolitics. These farmer demonstrations, according to Sidhu, are nothing short of a revolution.
